They just announced the GTX 1070 for $379, and it's faster than Titan X...

Bleh. I'm dumb. Just bought a 980 like a month or two ago. Oh well...there's always going to be something coming out replacing your shit.

Ya that gave me a boner and at the sametime annoys me that I paided slightly less for a GTX 970 abit over a year ago lol.

A GTX 1070 may be my xmas gift to myself.

No way I can afford the $600 1080 but the $380 1070 caught my attention

    Your move AMD

There's a difference between something coming out to replace your stuff, and something coming out to make your stuff obsolete (which is what just happened). Never, ever, buy a top-tier video card when the next-gen GPU is less than 6 months out.

The new graphics standards the 1070/1080 will create for AAA PC games is going to be insane.

Really hope the benches show the 1080 at x2 performance gain over a Titan X or the 1070 being faster than a Titan X. Gawd damn hype.

I really hope AMD does something special. Personally I don't want to deal with Nivida but Price+Performance will always win in my book.

Can't wait for digital foundry to release there benchmarks for these cards.

If you are looking on the graph it says "relative performance". Earlier nvidia said something similar and they ment performance per watts then or something. If you expect "up to 3x performance you'ld be dissapointed. I'ld expect performance something along the line of a normal generation jump.

Ya what they just annouced just killed all mid-range and high range current Nivida cards.

Hope this tanks the GTX 970 price and I mite just buy another one and SLI it for giggles.

Sometimes this stuff is just going to bite you in the ass. Nvidia and AMD will always talk u a storm over their new cards come what may so how were you to know? I would also wait for the benches to call it but it does look promising by the numbers.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

I've been waiting months to see the new GPUs before upgrading my system (i7 920/GTX680). Looks like it was worth the wait.

If what is said about the 1070 is true it can be a good starter 4k card.

I wounder what difference is in the 1070 and the 1080. For the cost of one 1080 you can pay slightly more and get two 1070 to SLI.

I hear ya. Just built a skylake i5 system. All new except video. Friend bought the 970 and loves it. I almost pulled the trigger several times and bought it, but had been waiting for release of Pascal. So far I'm with you and glad I waited. Really, really want to see some benchmarks.

Does 1070/1080 have a proper async compute support? Could find very little info about that..

$379 for 1070 is pretty nice, waiting for benchmarks though.

When can we expect these cards to hit the market?

There is a reason. It does not process it on the hardware level as AMDs will. It will be a lesser card when running DX12.
