I am lv 40 now and I am really liking it so far. The only thing that's bad is solo play. Its just so frustrating. Most of the time, people just don't play the objective, dieing solo after respawning(trickling in), not picking support/tank etc.

Imo, the play is only fun after a while when playing with friends. If you don't play that much then solo could be fun, depending on the person.

Tanks job is to get people focus on him and protect hes team mates. And Reinhard is pretty much best in this. Winston and D'va are great in harrasment, but as an pure tank Reinhard is best.

It can actually kill/almost kill many characters in pure 1v1. And usually Törjnborn is near it to repair it or shoot you too. But biggest problem for me, is that those turrets have 360 degree angles. You can't go behind them and wreck them.

Over this open beta I have one by one picked heroes that I didn't seem to be able work with. First it was Roadhog that I was just playing wrong. Next it was Symmetra that I just thought of being bad. Then it was Reaper who I was playing wrong. Now one more... Zarya.

Seriously, lowest hp tank that required you to be able aim at enemy long periods of time. Doing very little damage unless you charged her weapon by getting hit basically. Then I decided to go look for some guides. Immediately I realized I had been using the shield wrong and thus not getting charged properly. Now that I thought about it a bit I was able to pull out some serious damage and kills. That beam does impressive damage when you are fully charged. I just looked for allies that were charging into battle and were being shot at. Put shield on them and WHOA! Charge! When someone attacked me, I didn't immediately pop my shield, but instead I waited if they were going to stay there and fight. Shield up! WHOA! Charge! Suddenly the beam cuts trough people. With full charge that secondary fire bombs kill people. :I

What I still can't manage is proper ultimate use with Zarya, but at least I'm not a dead weight anymore.

I totally think turrets should not be able to turn around. You need to be rewarded, if you are able to sneak behind enemy defences. Like with reaper or tracer. Right now you can't attack them without them being able to target you, I think.

The reason I say this is I don't think I've played a single game so far where the team had all roles filled.
League of Legends' Dynamic queue says hello. It's also a prime example of why this would not work and should not be implemented.

That's the thing though. I maintain an opinion that that's the purpose of Torbjorn's turrets. They're there to give a bit of protection against anyone sneaking up from behind. Any decent Tracer/Reaper will avoid it, or kill their target before it proves a threat, but it's a good deterrence and a bit of extra protection. You don't use it as a frontline defense unless you're a) Completely dominating them, or b) 100% COMPLETELY certain that they're not going to switch to Tracer, Reaper or Genji at any point.

I've played some Overwatch for a few hours as Junkrat and its a really fun hero to play.

But that is quickly ruined by Widowmakers and Hanzo's who 1 shot me far from a distance and there's not a damn thing I can do. They force everyone to hide out of fear of being sniped and if you try to shoot at them you give them a chance to shoot at you. I feel useless against them. What's the counter?

The only Google results I see claiming to have hacks right now are blatant scams.

(Just to clarify, I'm not saying they absolutely can't/won't/don't exist. Just that I'm horribly skeptical of any claims at this point.)

Right now my counter for snipers is Reaper. You can teleport around and ambush Widowmaker before they in most cases can even retaliate.

I don't like Hanzos. Basically the same thing should work, but it is hard since Hanzos are not looking trough scope all the time. It is harder for them to hit from far away tho so you should get closer.

You could also try Winston. You can leap at them and you are too durable to die from a few shots.

The first clip I've seen several times before, and there is one point in it that IS pretty fishy, but it's hard for me to just start screaming hacks at it.

The second one isn't a hack at all, it's a professional player that uploaded half those those to YouTube himself and is - quite frankly - just better than most of us.
Are you dismissing the evidence on purpose? On the first video, you can clearly see the aimbot at the beginning of the video, at the end he turns it off when he got called out for using aimbot. The second video also shows clear proof, at 0:03-0:05 you clearly see that the crosshair automatically locks on to the rezzed player while the player tries to get the crosshair away from it. I think you are just trolling at this point or just don't have much experience with fps and aimbot etc in general.

The second one is very much NOT a hacker, the guy has several videos showing him destroying the whole enemy team in seconds with Widowmaker. He's a professional player for nV, it's not like he's going to upload videos of himself hacking to begin with.
Guess you never played CSGO or you would know that even some Pros use hacks. OW ain't different. Also in the first video, whats really suspicious is the fight against mccree. If you slow down the video you can see the aimbot. Later when he got called out for using aimbot he turns it off and immediately can't hit properly. This was my last time trying to convince you, since it seems you have no experience with overall hacking in FPS games.

First impression is I'm not buying it while Bastion is in the game. Most unfun hero ever.

Zarya has more or less become my main character since I started playing due to how incredibly versatile her style of tanking is. Being able to bully bastions with alt-fire and melting people with high charge, juking focus fire with particle shield and setting up half the enemy team for a focus fire death via graviton charge.. she's the thug who only has a real weakness in tracking flying targets and mobility.

Most important facet though that I've found is that projected barrier has an incredible range, so while Zarya's tanking style makes her less apt at protecting the entire team.. she can reach stupidly far away to provide the team with protection. Added with how strong her altfire gets with some good cannon charge, she EASILY has the largest presence on a battle of all tanks.

Because people are making arguments like "I don't like this particular thing, therefore the game is bad". That last clause does not follow from the first. I don't like avocado, but that doesn't mean it's a bad vegetable and everyone who likes avocado is wrong. It means that maybe I should just not have avocado, myself.

The moment you start acting like your opinion has any objective truth to it, you're moving past personal preference, which is why I point that out.

You're playing a hero (Junkrat) who specializes in indirect fire, and you're complaining about two heroes headshotting you with direct fire.

Try not standing in the open where they can shoot you in the head. You're making mistakes, and they're capitalizing on it. Don't blame them for those mistakes; learn from them.

As for direct counters? If you can take back routes, Junkrat counters them well at mid range, with indirect grenades. Reaper can teleport behind them and take them out; teleport can go vertical so Widowmaker can't find a safe perch. For Widowmaker, Pharah can often lob some rockets at her position to disrupt her and at least make her find another spot. Tracer can often beat the pants off Hanzo on the ground (or a Widowmaker who isn't vertically perched) because her mobility plays havoc with them trying to target her in close. Roadhog can utterly ruin their day if he can take a back route to get close enough. I could keep going, because I'm not done. There are plenty of counters to pretty much any tactic.

I got stuck as healer on kings row so decided to go symmetra and man is she a busy bee! Not really a healer in my mind so I think on areas with lots of close spaces she should be chosen to stop people from flanking you. Great hero.

Pretty late to this, but I think it's complete garbage that Roadhog's hook forces Bastion out of turret mode, yet Winston's ult punches don't.

Probably fair; anything that forces movement should kick you out. In the case of Winston, you probably want to book it at that point anyway.

Symmetra is the goddess of traps and awareness when you don't have hanzo or widowmaker. I always pick her early in Defense and should find a way to pick her late in offense, those teleporters and the shield (that regens mid combat afaik, and can be healed by kits/healing) are just excellent bits of utility.

She is however extremely vulnerable to Winston. That tesla cannon wrecks many cooldown cycles worth of turrets in one go.

I can't for the life of me put Winston to good use. I was watching Seagull on twitch and he said the go to move get that final push to cap an objective is double monkey but single? I get smoked. My go to tanks are Rhardt in payload escort and small control zones, roadhog for pinch points and cluttered spaces. He is great at pinch points when he pulls enemies through the pinch point into your turrets line of fire. I really like Rhog when there is already a tank on my team as I can run the routes less taken and play disruption.

Winston's a disruptor, not a soaker. Your goal is to dive onto the point as your entire team charges, pop your bubble to cause havoc with enemy sightlines, and then hose people with the tesla cannon as your teammates pick them off.

If you're diving onto a point and popping the bubble to try and cap while the enemy team all shoot you, and you're alone, you're gonna have a bad time, in ways that Reinhardt might not.

"Tank" does not mean "able to solo the entire enemy team's defenses". People need to get out of that mentality.

Winston is a bully and a chaser tank, absolutely the most mobile damage dealer of his fellow tanks (Teslacannnon not needing aim and all that) with his shield allowing him to single out sections of the enemy team and hold out as the rest of his team gets to work. His stupidly good mobility lets him get to where the problem is, making him a natural counter to entrenched defenses if you are able to use verticality/distractions/unexpected approach angles.

Never go in solo, never consider tanking the entire teams damage potential, but do leap in and stress the shit out of the people who would otherwise be giving the five dudes behind you a hard time. This includes leaping behind offense characters and forcing them to deal with you or your team. There's no amount of poor aim or good dodge on their part that will save them from the tesla cannon.. it even goes through barriers!

And with Ulti, his healthpool is effectively 1600 (+600 barrier drop), allowing him tons of disruption/nullification potential along with all that vertical movement.

I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but Bastion staying in turret mode can rip through an ulting Winston is my major issue with it. Feels bad. :l
