1. THESE GAMES LOOK FREAKING GORGEOUS THE ARTSTYLE IS A LOT LESS CARTOONY THAN XY/ORAS
2. ROWLET LOOK ADORABLE AND WE FINALLY GET A GASS/FLYING STARTER

Kukui, the guy that greets the player at the start of the trailer, is most likely the professor. His name means Candlenut tree in Hawaiian.

The possible trainer customization beyond the skin and hair colours:
