The most powerful warlock is either Kil'Jaeden or Archimonde, possibly Sargeras himself.

Where's the mage that can match their power?

Medivh could likely one-shot them. Only one out there stronger than Medivh is Sargeras. Hell, Medivh might just stand a fighting chance against Sargeras.

Medivh was only so strong because of Sargeras in the first place.

Medivh IS (he is still around, btw) strong because he had the power of dozens if not hundreds of Azeroth's BEST magi poured into him, had perfect genes for being a mage, and had a natural talent for it. If the Kirin Tor could float a city, the Council of Tirisfal could blow up a planet. And they pooled their power together for centuries across generations. GENERATIONS.

Wut? Medivh got rekt by Khadgar and Lothar. He also had some difficulty killing a blue dragon. KJ would faceroll him.

If he stood a chance against Archimonde he would have faced him in the third war.

When he was fighting Khadgar and Lothar he was actively limiting himself because he wanted to die (A sliver of himself understood he was being controlled)

And in the Third War he had sworn an oath to non-interference, wich is why he didn't just teleport the entire population of the Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor.

Whereas it is possible (With the right preparations) to hold HUNDREDS of humans worth of Arcane power without any problems, Medivh being the prime example.

ืNo, read the last guardian again he wasn't. All he did was that he kept others around in the case he went mad which he did. Medivh even did an desperate attemtp to kill Khadgar at the last moment but Lothar came in to cut his head off.

It's pretty much that he was not powerful enough to stop anything alone. He had no easy time killing a blue dragon.

I didn't also swear any oath. It was directly his job to help protect the world and he did everything in his power to ensure its survival.

Aegwynn repeatedly stated that he would be stronger than her, and she repeatedly crushed demon incursions, including a Avatar of Sargeras (Who did plan to die there, but still).

His death was so crushingly powerful that his latent mana created physical visions of his servants and memories, insane visions that tried to kill anything not fitting to their.... programming?.

He's also the person who activated the Black Portal (Using fel magic controlled by a soul sliver of Sargeras, but again, still impressive).

And he fought Aegwynn just a few days before he fought that blue dragon, anyone would be tired after that, especially considering that the blue dragonflight is extremely well attuned to Arcane magic, making them very resistant to it.

I agree that he might not be a perfect match for Archimonde or Sargeras, but i believe he is not at all far behind.

I also believe, considering how powerful he is SUPPOSED to be (by Aegwynns standards) that he did not actually fight full power against Khadgar and Lothar, who were his student and best friend.

Medivh did his best to try to kill Khadgar. He was outmaneuvered. When he was stabbed, Sargeras almost consumed him entirely but Lothar finished the job. Also, Aegwynn killing demons is nothing impressive. Illidan ate demons for breakfast so does his brother. What's impressive is her fight with avatar of Sargeras but you have to really rate the avatar of Sargeras so highly to think it's more powerful than Archimonde or KJ or anything close to real Sargeras. The avatar didn't even need huge source of magic like WoE or Sunwell to be summoned.

Medvih also defeated Aegwynn when she had no guardian power and he had. It was not that difficult.

Archimonde and KJ would crush dragons who are not aspects really bad. Medivh is the most powerful mage out there( I don't count Azshara because in her current state she is not a mage anymore imo) but he is simply not as powerful as some people are making him out to be.

Being back stabbed (literally) when you weren't paying attention isn't an indication of how powerful Medivh is, it's an indication of how careless he was. In fact, that happened pretty much because the plot required it - otherwise, we wouldn't have much of a story other than "Medivh killed Khadgar and Lothar. Continued his plan. Regained Avatar of Sargeras' body then proceed to destroy Azeroth". It's hard to believe that someone who noticed Garona - a trained assasin - sneaking behind him wouldn't notice Khadgar's movement - but there is always a need for plot induced stupidity.

Medivh noticed Garona sneaking up on him, screwed with her mind. He then proceed to defeat and drain Khadgar's vitality with two spells. After that, Medivh was dodging Lothar's strike without using magic, then created a shield and stand still letting Lothar hacked in vain at his shield without doing any damage, and finally burned and knocked Lothar down with another spell. I wouldn't argue against the fact that Medivh is weaker than Archimonde / Kil'Jaeden (because it's true, he likely is), but claiming that he was rekt by Lothar & Khadgar or having trouble defeating a wyrm is just wrong.

Feel has a weakness that Arcane doesn't, it is weak against Holy Magic. But overall in pure destructive and offensive terms I'd say Fel tops out Arcane. Fel also appears adapt at disrupting Arcane magics.

Arcane does appear more versatile, it has the ability to conjure food, distort time and space to a far greater degree and is far less damaging and addictive.

If you look at them as a whole then I'd wager they are very close when weighing the pros and cons. But if we are just discussing who makes the bigger boom, Fel wins.

They're dead. Not a fair comparison though since there is no one around who is just as powerful with arcane magic except for maybe baby Azeroth.

Basically this, fel is just a cheap fast powerboost with massive negative side effects (think Bane's venom).

Side effects include, but are not limited to: Manic episodes, random explosions, summoning of soul-eating monstrosities, the attention of the following organizations: The Order of Light, the Assassins guild, Night Elf demonic-prevention activists and the odd Paladin walking around.

Please consult your physician before injecting Fel.

Fel is versatile. It can build cities and drain life to restore vitality. Fel is actually better at transmutation than arcane, as stated by Antonidas.

Fel has the unfortunate side effect of randomly exploding or pulling out some form of soul-eating monster though, i think that is a good enough reason to put a giant "do not touch" sign on any and all instruction manuals..
