    Beta is really dark?

Anyone else playing the beta find some parts of the game excessively dark? For example several times ive been trying to climb a rocky hill and can't even see what I'm standing on.

    P.S.
People seem to be misinterpreting this a lot. This has nothing to do with darker nights, it has to do with gamma and brightness to the point where I literally can't see what I'm walking on.

Darker nights are a good thing.

Yeah I like darker nights and such. Feels better and a tiny bit more realistic.

maybe they should implement light sources a player can carry around ?
like a torch, lantern, floating magic ball of light

A few weapons and enchants do that. Nothing excessive but they're enough I'd think.

I'm not talking darker nights, I mean small pockets of pure black can't even see the ground I'm standing on dark. And then it seems fine just a little bit over.

Write down coordinates of the pitch black spots, and post them to the official forums. Or turn up the brightness on your computer.

There are a handful of subzones where the lighting is completely broken (By accident or design). Most notably, a hallway in Arcway is completely pitch black and textureless, making it nearly impossible to find definition. There's also the whole last bit of Vault of the Wardens, but that's an intentional mechanic involving the light ball, which doesn't appear to be totally working yet.

This is why it's in beta.

Right, I was just checking if anyone else was having the issue or if it's just me.

    ---

Also to specify most of my experiences with this have been in azsuna near cliffs so it could be a shaders or shadow issue.

Have you reported it to Blizzard yet?

Blizzard should really make night/day cycle optional for people with bad monitors (so they can't see anything when it's dark) or people who can only play at late hours and don't want to play during night all the time. That way both sides are happy - those who play at different times and enjoy the day night cycle and those who want to get depressed in the dark
Atoms are liars, they make up everything!

really tempted to actually be toxic now lol.
I have a reallyl hard time to see even the slightest hint of toxicity there.

anyways darkness to create atmospheric environments is something I really appreciate.

    That's good.

It is realistic, if you go to countryside it can be pretty damn dark in the real world, and nostalgic, for those of us who played vanilla.
