Also: If what someone says absolutely goes against what you consider right etc., chances are that you what get into problems with each other in real life too. It's just "easier" to break ties with someone on FB.

Is this normal? Should I take it personally and feel aggrieved? I thought the free exchange of opinions nourished democracy, and anyway why not just unfollow my posts so they don't show up?

Edit: because people kept asking me. I got unfriended because I left a comment on a news article, who subject was how should transgender people come out to their parents. It was an asinine article, so I left an asinine comment. The comment: if your parents don't know you're already transgender based on how you look, you have bigger problems than coming out. Also this might have been the straw that broke the camel's back, because I do share pro-Trump articles, videos and memes on my page (not too often - like once every two days) - e.g. how the creator of Dilbert is a big Trump fan http://blog.dilbert.com/.

I have defriended people. Those people weren't really all that good of friends irl though. Acquaintances, group project members, old employees/coworkers, people you went to high school with but never really talked to. Its usually over racially charged political viewpoints.

I don't read Dutch. If your party philosophy is content to work within the framework of capitalism, then it would not be Democratic Socialism.

Ye, sorry, I don't really care how you see it, not even seeing what the point is of this. They are socialist by dutch standards, and thats all I really care about.

How do you know it's a bad argument if you haven't listened to it? No one is asking you to engage in the same debate repeatedly, not being an authoritarian just means you don't require other people to have the same exact opinion just because yours has been solidified.
