How is the world doomed? Renewable energy has been increasing rapidly, at least here in the US it has. Agriculture continues to be improved, the population still goes up slowly. That isn't indicative of doom.

Did you notice the larger increases at the end of the animation. 2°С is the point where we cant stop it. Yeah the Earth exists for 4.5 billion years, and quite a lot of that time it was uninhabitable. You realize multiple deaths have happened in Australia in the past 2 years because of the incredible heat waves which have not ever happened before.

To be honest we cant stop it anyways... at this point people are too stubborn and stupid to do anything about it. Humanity deserves this. When people start to die from the heatwaves, floods and hurricanes, I hope the dumb people are the first to go, so maybe the rest of us can do something to save our species.

If we keep pushing it and facilitating the development of the necessary tech and its roll-out, then yes we can stop AGW before it becomes excessively damaging.

If we let the stupids hamstring it because they are stupid tribalists who'd rather see the world burn then see the other side win, then no. That is why the stupids must be fought and overcome at every turn, its too important to let the stupids have their way.

Oh the earth will continue to exist that isn't in doubt. Life will continue and that also is not in doubt. How livable it will be for us slow adapting Humanoids is another question entirely.
