Beta realm character copy - not working?

I just got back from a short vacation and was trying to access the legion beta, but the game will not copy over my account data from live. Did I miss something?

Too busy playing early access beta to read up. Not even giving any feedback, because too busy.

It does help test how the game presents information to people who don't spend all their time reading about WoW. Though I don't think its a conscious decision. I do think that there is a conscious decision to select people who actually provide valuable/useful feedback instead of someone who treats the beta as a "Free early demo" and doesn't submit feedback. who knows?
