Michael Keaton, who in April was in early talks for a villainous role in the Sony-Marvel collaboration/reboot Spider-Man: Homecoming before falling out, is back in the mix again and we’ve been told his deal has closed. He apparently set to play iconic Spider-Man villain The Vulture and joins newly minted Spider-Man Tom Holland along with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. who are also confirmed.

Spider-Man’s first real supervillain, The Vulture was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and introduced in Amazing Spider-Man #2 (1963). Aging Staten Island inventor Adrian Toomes had created a flight harness that also granted him enhanced strength and longer lifespan. However, he was robbed blind by his embezzling business partner, and turned to a life of crime out of bitterness and a desire for revenge.

The Vulture’s first encounter with Spider-Man happens to be the in-universe reason Peter Parker got his most famous day job, freelance photographer for tabloid paper The Daily Bugle — Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson offered a reward to anyone who could get a picture of The Vulture. Further, The Vulture has long been tied to The Sinister Six, a supervillain team introduced in 1964 that was comprised of several enemies Spidey had consistently defeated. That means a potentially big role for Keaton within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Tbh I want ALL the major Asgardians to have a role. I mean how can you have Ragnarok without Odin, Loki, Sif, the Warriors Three, Tyr, Lorelai, Heimdall etc?

If they do it right, then he'd been on more than equal footing with Thanos. (and more powerful than all of the Avengers combined, even possibly adding the Hulk to the group and can even counter the Scarlet Witch...easily)

In hindsight, I would have to agree with you on how powerful Rune King Thor was. He's at least the equal to an Elder God, and possibly on equal footing with Galactus.

The cool thing about Rune King Thor is that his power limit is technically Unknown. In this form he has full access to the runes AND the Thor Force, which is an almost unlimited source of energy. For all we know... He could be the most powerful being in Marvel, sadly, that makes it kinda hard to write for him, so people don't.

I mean, at the end of the God Butcherer arc, base level old man Thor (who is a weaker version of RKT), using the necrosword went toe to toe with Galactus... And blitzed the shit out of him (https://thelatestpull.files.wordpres...2-page-004.jpg).

Tbh, the more I think about it... I think spunking RKT this early in the MCU is a bit of a waste


Just had a thought: So as we all know, right now in the comics Jane Foster is Thor and Odinson is... Well, a bit fucked.

What if, they kept Jane as Thor and seeing as he's being a MASSIVE tool right now, killed off/wrote out Odin. Then, when Odinson makes his inevitable return during this current arc, have HIM ascend to the throne.

Thor would still be Thor, and would carry on fighting Loki, frost Giants, Malakith etcetc. But Odinson would become Allfather or Runeking, or some other, equally badass name. With his new title and powers, he'd be freed up to take on newer, stronger enemies. Like that DICK from Roxxon who trashed Broxton and has generally been a thorn in everyone's side for ages now.

Dunno if this has been mentioned yet (I'm avoiding the thread until I catch up with Civil War) but Marvel have rescued their second Johnny Storm from a sucky Fantastic Four franchise.

Hopefully this will absolutely kill any hopes for a fan4stick sequel and return rights back to marvel so they can make a real F4 movie with a real fucking doom, complete with doombots, his own country and magic.

A long while ago, it was revealed that there were shadowy deities that sat above the gods. These deities enforced the cycle of Ragnarok, a form of birth-death-rebirth of the gods. (A cycle that Odin tried to break many times, his latest trick however was a gamble; creating Donald Blake and the influence that humanity would have on Thor, which would eventually free Thor of the manipulations of "Those that Sit Above in Shadow") At first Odin was the only god that knew of their existence and that they were effectively enslaved to this cycle...When Thor realizes that another Ragnarok is at hand, he hangs himself on Yggdrasil and gains vast power over magic and the runes. (Rune King Thor...can't recall where Odin is at this point. Probably dead.) Thor breaks the Fates and the power of "Those that Sit Above in Shadow" and the cycle of Ragnarok was to be forever broken, and the gods were truly freed to have a final death.
Needless to say, the "Rune King" didn't last very long.

i wonder if all these series got enough "name recognistion" to keep running for a longer period.

a netflix 4 part miniseries to intro the character and then making a defenders continious series seems to me as something more manageable.

i mean, we gt what 7 or 8 series for long?
