Has someone said they were doing anything illegal in this thread?

A 3rd party could still give the investigation more credibility. He didn't say the third party was law enforcement

And I didn't say the 3rd party would be law enforcement.

Yes but you brought up legality, which is not the issue.

It did to me, sad it didn't for you
There actually was an outsider who looked at their process and found that it was already balanced.

Apparently not balanced enough since they are eliminating the top 10 list of approved websites.

But that is the new mantra of the Right. Everyone is out to get us. It is how they can keep the support of their under-educated base, at the same time as they make them suspicious of actual factual news. They can easily dismiss any negative news stories as the "lefty media bias" and their base will agree, ignore the negative news, and then turn to Fox news for "the real, correct news" pretty sad actually

To appease triggered conservatives... not because there was bias.

"We investigated ourselves and found ourselves did nothing wrong."

Outside of that funny meme, its a private company, couldn't give two shits what they trend.

Sounds like we shouldn't appease any groups who get too easily triggered and complain about things being unfair.

Seems strange to see support for a fairness doctrine in this thread.

If you care about anything on Facebook, you need to seriously get your priorities in order.

Facebook said its investigation showed that conservative and liberal topics were approved as trending topics at nearly identical rates. - http://news.sky.com/story/1701253/fa...after-bias-row
Unfortunately, it is much easier to tweak the process than try to explain the nothing really bad happened after all.

Conservatives will walk away from this non-controversy (over something that almost no one uses) thinking a huge victory has been won...and that is all Facebook was looking to accomplish.

Neutrality is a victory, so that makes sense.

Congratulations, you've won exactly what you already had.

Applauding this as a "victory" is pretty darned silly. There was a claim that there was bias. No evidence of such was found. They've tried to make their policy more transparent to prevent future fraudulent claims of bias. That's all that's happened.

Applauding neutrality is legitimate, it isn't silly.

The point, which you keep ignoring, is that you always had neutrality. You didn't "win" anything through all this. All that was demonstrated was the existence of a persecution complex, held by those who leveled the accusation in the first place.

if a news story came out about facebook employees censoring liberal news, I would bet you would sing a different tune.

I prefer to think of it as every day something works good it is a win.

Nope, I want to hear everything they are saying. Why would I be afraid of their arguments?
