Challenge Mode : Play WoW like my disability has me play:
You will need two people, Brian MUST use the mouse for movement/looking and John MUST use the keyboard for casting, attacking, healing etc.
Briand and John share the same goal, same intentions - but they can't talk to each other, however they can react to each other's in game activities.
Now see how far Brian and John get in WoW.
Depends. If it was plainly cut out of the game, then no. If all that time and effort they put raids went somewhere else, like making mythic+ dungeons with 20 well-designed dungeons and made PvP balanced and enjoyable, while making the story still progress in some kind of manner, then yes. I'd actually prefer it that way.
As long as theirs PvP and World events, im good.
The creators of this game have stated time and time again that they designed WoW for the raids. It does not matter what the participation level for this activity is since the game would not exist if the creators of the game didn't want there to be raiding. I don't know how much clearer I could spell this out for you.
It would be like observer mode... watching all those bads and casuals doing their stuff. I cannot even fathom how boring it would be. Excluded the PVP dudes but I don't think the game will be interesting after raids are gone for them either.
Without raids, my interest in the game would fade a lot faster than it did in WoD. Raids keep my attention on a weekly basis, and the rest would keep me occupied while not raiding.
Seriously, there are plenty of single player games out there that can handle 3/4 of those bits on your list. Any single player RPG would handle world content far better than WoW, including storytelling and likely world bosses (no other faction players or trolls to completely destroy the experience). There are plenty of games designed around crafting/gathering and earning a currency through a market or something like it.
Basically, mythic+ dungeons are a great and welcome addition, but since they scale endlessly, there's no goal line within reach. No solid sense of accomplishment from having set and met a goal, just an endless upwards grind to test limits. Beating a mythic raid end boss is a solid goal to set and meet within a decent time frame, there is no end like that for the dungeons. That coupled with the fact that 5 man groups lose a lot of what makes an MMO actually feel like an MMO, makes for a lackluster experience. Sure it's nice seeing other players running around, but you remove raids and they become little more than NPCs with an advanced AI program running them.
"Believing something is not an accomplishment. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because “strength of belief” is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. Listen to any “die-hard” conservative or liberal talk about their deepest beliefs and you are listening to somebody who will never hear what you say on any matter that matters to them — unless you believe the same. Wherever there is a belief, there is a closed door."
Only raid in LFR so makes no difference to me. Honestly I'd prefer it I could finish expansions quicker.
If you asked me this a year ago, before I moved to an RP server, I would have said no, absolutely not.
Now, though? I'd probably still play, provided I had an active RP guild. I really love the one I'm in right now. Lots of activity, lots of fun events- like having a D&D group and campaign all baked into the WoW universe and game engine.
I like raiding, but it's only one of the things I like. I would probably play anyway, but who knows? There are also other games (Overwatch looks promising) and other ways to have fun.
"I Am Vengeance. I Am The Night. I Am Felfáádaern!"
Nope. I've tried to play other MMOs without raiding as a main focus (GW2, Tera, etc) and it just wasn't as fun. I love organized raiding in WoW, I love bonding with my guildies every tues-wed-thurs and I love pugging. Even if it seems like it's shit, it's a lot of fun. Playing the other games without raiding as a main focus or at least with organized raiding just didn't do it for me. There's also the holy trinity that I like, having a non definitive role like in GW2 makes the game somewhat annoying imo.
Changing my answer as I type this. I think I'd play, but I'm not sure. There's definitely much to do outside of raiding (ignore WoD) so I'd probably still play but I imagine it wouldn't be as fun for me.
Its come to this the casuals have run out of things to complain about and now want to strip away the final layer of real pve group entertainment wow has to offer. Saying its OK cause raider are just a minority wow. Nothing but dungeons and world boss/events could never work for long. Dungeons being limited to 5 players as competitive would make class/spec balance just shit. We've seen challenge mode dungeons end up being completed by odd ball group setups abusing aoe must have battle rez, must have hero, etc. You think spamming dungeons until the regular crowd hits a wall will work out? It'll be cata dungeons outcry all over again but worse because many specs will be deemed not worth the 5 man slot over others when facing progression content all the same. You'd casuals would turn on each other like rabid dogs cause thats what you've always done.
World boss/event as progression o god the servers would just be crashing constantly. Imagine if showing up to galleon was progression content with how crazy crz has gotten, disaster waiting to happen. I mean maybe if CRZ wasn't such a awful feature, and there was like 20+ world bosses spread all over the place to make the servers not crash there's a chance. Loot tables would be a nightmare to figure out on how to have people progress. I know black desert does the world boss thing but its actually not working out really. People just spam kill the easiest one to down. Mechanics when such a giant cluster of people are involved are very limited. There is no good way to have world bosses as serious progression because the only way to make bosses hard is to put mechanics that say don't zerg me and we all saw how that worked out with Oondasta. Its not going to work you have a half baked disgusting biased plan.

Too much raid focus is cancer of this game now. It makes all other contents are died.
The game was designed to be the next EverQuest... a game whose popularity was largely due to its raiding.
WoW has and always will be about the raids. There may be other things to do but it is an undeniable fact that if raiding weren't in the minds of the creators when it was developed, we wouldn't have a game at all.
You actually believe after an expansion like mop raiding is the reason other forms of content have been striped? So stripe away raiding too? Eye for an eye logic when plenty of people still enjoy said content is ridiculous, nobody said remove scenarios and gate professions behind timers come WoD. Raiders did not throw your dailies under the bus.
I answered no and I started in late vanilla. If this game didnt have raiding I wouldnt be playing it anymore. It was fun to explore and do alot back when I first started but nothing compares to raiding for me. Its probably my favorite activity of ANY game.
Its something unique in gaming IMO and its one of the few social things left in this game. Without raiding would there even been a need for guilds. Guilds are allready hanging by a thread as it is IMO.

Yes,I would. I enjoy 5-Man Dungeons the most .
Er, yes and no, I would play it but I would unsub after completing all the quests and getting all the best non-raid gear (which takes no time at all these days).
