This season is pretty mediocre overall except for a few really good shows.

Kabaneri would do well with a 24 episode season but I'll settle with 12. Re:Zero is the mvp this season, though.

I think this season is pretty much fine.
Thursday - Netoge, AssClass and Kanaberi.
Saturday - Asterisk.
Sunday - Re:Zero.
And I'm catching up on Flying Witch.
If I had time I could perhaps watch the other ones that aren't terrible like Joker Game, Luluco or Boku no Hero. Or even that Sakamoto one. If I wanted to watch even more shit, then I'd still have Kiznaiver.
Pretty fine season to be honest, not incredible but not even close to being bad.

I've watched several first and second episodes of shows this season and honestly the only shows I've kept current on are Mayoiga because it's fucking terrible and Luluco because it's AOTS. Started watching Flying Witch again and it's great so far, and I remembered liking Kuma Miko too. I gave Re:Zero the first double episode and the episode after and I didn't dig on it and don't see the fuss over Emilio Estevez or w/e her name was. Boku no Hero was okay but it's not my type of show so it's not the fault of the show itself. Tanaka and Sakamoto might get a second look. Kiznaiver was meh. Kabaneri was too. Netoge might get another look too. And of course Jojo is shit so I didn't bother.

Nope. It's the same universe, but stories are separate. At worst you miss out on some references and jokes. I recommend you watch Macross Zero and Macross Frontier, though. Former is a 5-episode OVA origin story for the entire Macross franchise, latter is the latest Macross anime before Delta. Both are great, and honestly better than Delta has been so far.
