Sometimes I wonder if people are being paid to start/spread these kinds of threads.

I think if $150 eggs is what Venezuela is worrying about compared to Americas nation wide debt problem, then I think they'll be ok
Do you honestly not understand that at $150/dozen eggs, it is far more likely they will soon run out of money, and die of starvation, long before they even have the time to consider the cost of medicine, much less college?

Vermont’s Democratic socialist presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has sought to separate his views from those of tyrannical socialist regimes throughout history. The problem is that back in the 1980’s Sanders was outspoken in his support of communist dictator Fidel Castro as well as the Soviet-aligned Sandinista government in Nicaragua.

In fact, recently discovered video shows Sanders praising food lines as a good thing. Sanders asserts that countries where people don’t line up for food that the poor are starving to death because “the rich get all the food.”

Considering how many people died under Socialism and Communism through outright murder or starvation, it’s an insult to the American people that this man’s candidacy is being taken seriously by anyone.
Using the Gateway Pundit isn't helping your argument. They are still stuck on birtherism.

They wont die of starvation because they will flock out of the country that has an economy 90% dependent on oil exporting. Maduro will give them a backpack full of food, a couple gallons of water, 100 bucks, a map, and the direction to the us southern border drawn on the map. Then when oil prices rise again he will laugh his ass off at the usa.

I wonder why no one creates post about failing socialist Scandinavian countries?

We can check back in 10 years on Sweden, they are going down the tubes in my opinion, and fast, Holland also.

Man, I miss when a dozen eggs was under 2 dollars. Last time I went to go get eggs I saw a sign saying we were having a shortage! I couldn't even believe it.

Failing? You mean still being the best countries to live in by a bunch of different indicators.

USA, second largest capitalist country - 2-2.5 million homeless children, almost 50 million people living below the poverty line. Oh you guys are doing such a cracking job with that ultra-capitalist dream.

At Walmart I saw they were selling a dozen large Sunny Meadow eggs for 98 cents. ya, CENTS. I should buy it all, go to Venezuela and make a killing!

I think he was posting sarcasm but Hooked fell for it because he thinks all socialism is bad. Except for the socialism he uses like the internet and the highway systems.

Which is still double what a dozen eggs cost in the USA. In fact you can buy generic ones for a dollar a dozen in the US. So even socialist Norway pays double for everything to pay for all the handouts

It'd be a lot more reasonable to say "It costs a bunch to buy eggs in the failed petro-state of Venezuela." I don't think there's a coherent argument for basing their economic downturn on philosophy and not the bottom falling out of the industry that makes up more than half their economy.

I feel anyone who blindly bashes socialism without a shred of knowledge about it, should have to forfeit all of their social services. No utilities for you. No school for your children. No police to help you. No fire department to rescue you. No Emergency Medical Services to save you.

You want to live in the good ole United States where every one fends for themselves, then please feel free to do so. But i'll embrace the modern United States where we are a democratic socialist country.

Take it a step farther. Raise your own chickens, and have fresh eggs for free, and sell the excess to the neighbors.

    Get an education.
History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people - Martin Luther King, Jr.

Social democracy is not socialism. Social democracy is fully capable of existing in a capitalistic economy. Do yourself a favour and get an education (using the social democratic education no less!) or read a book from the library (another one of those oh, so horrible, social democratic programs!).

Still costs thousands and thousands between co-pays, deductibles, and insurance premiums, on top of what the US government spends on health care, but that's kinda off topic.
