    Starting Bonsai Trees

    Hey People!

I was thinking of getting a few seeds to start 3-4 Japanese Maple Bonsais...
So i thought i'd ask here if anyone have some knowledge on Bonsai Trees?

Like for example, how to i make the tree stop growing on height once i think it's high enough, without risking to never get new branches?
    Or are new branches guranteed?
Can i just cut the tree however i want as long as it's the right "season" ?

If i cut a branch... will it re-grow?

If you have any idea, please comment and help a brother out!

    Thanks in advance

Man kan göra bonsaiträd av vilket träd man vill, genom att klippa och sköta trädet vid rätt årstider så får man trädet att "ändra dna" och tro att det ska förbli litet!

jag ska göra en Japansk Lönn! sjukt vackert!

It depends on the tree in time they will grow more branches even if your cut them off but it can take a long time. They tend to grow as large as the pot they are in allows them to.

The most common thing to go wrong is over watering though be sure to look up how much your plant needs and don't over do.

Your best bet would probably be to hit up a local library, and see if they have anything on the subject. Or just google for some instructional guides / information. Bonsai are specialist enough that you probably are not going to strike gold randomly asking on a gaming forum about them, though if you do, more power to you i guess.

My father is a bonsai nut, he's got about 40 different ones, some of them are very amazing. Sadly, I never got to interested and don't have real insight, just wanted to say that it's a wonderful hobby and craft. Good luck!

I have noticed that he usually trims leafs pointing downwards...

The hard part about training a banzai tree is teaching them how to fix bayonet and charge.

You know -- live, fast, dye young, and leave a pretty copse. I feel like I may not have that quite right.
