Uninstalled too. I had a blast the first few days and during the first beta weekend when people were trying; now it's obvious that the matchmaking can't make a good quick match experience with extreme uneven skill levels and premades.
I'll wait for the first major patch with ranked and the first balance tweaks, probably by then the shit crowd has left the game and i can enjoy this game again.
Here was a level 85 Enhancement Shaman. Now there is just an epitaph.

Account level isn't relevant in terms of matchmaking, at least not relevant enough to alter anything. I'm generally the lowest level player in the room thanks to how much I work but it doesn't stop me from getting gold medals in practically every game I play. Beyond that I've seen enough level 80s walk off edges, use healing ults when nobody is fighting and never touch the objective to know their high level isn't gonna help the team much. It's all about the person behind the monitor and more importantly about the team actually playing as a team, all the way form the hero select to the final objective.

...That being said I agree about the matchmacking. It consistently has some wild swings on me. Going from winning in ~2 minutes to losing in 1 minute multiple times a day is frustrating. Generally the biggest issue I run into is hero choice, 3-4 of tracer/genji/reaper/hanzo/widwomaker on a payload attack seems to be normal. The problem with it is the enemy sniper having free reign to pick at the 1-3 people actually on the cart. Somehow two flankers and a sniper can't even make the enemy sniper move from their spot. Beyond that if I don't pull the instant lock damage like most players do I get left to Tank/Support and get to enjoy the sight of healing my team for 30%+ of damage taken only to have gold eliminations be 1...of which I killed with my pistol on mercy.

Sadly, I suppose it's to be expected of a new game constantly gaining new players of which there is no way to know their MMR except have them play games. As well as new players figuring out the heroes/maps, watching winstons leap off the edge is funny at least. I would expect (See: Hope) as time goes on and people land at their proper MMR as well as the launch of competitive mode that the situation will improve. I've had the best success on hybrid'ish roles, like doing tons of damage as Lucio or Zenyatta. Or playing 76 on the point and picking snipers with a well timed rocket and burst fire while offering healing to the team. Winston/D.Va can act as fairly good sources of damage and great disrupting of enemy snipers by jumping on them and then jumping back for heals before dying while still serving as "tanks."

I see what you are saying with the last bit, but there's more to the issues with matchmaking than just disparity in skill. I think they should have people mark their role preference when being put into a queue. And just to avoid people abusing the system, you have some sort of underlying system that checks that if you are constantly marking Support/Tank as preference but rarely play it would shift to having you marked as an offensive/defensive role player.

Part of the reason why I have no fun in the game is that I feel forced to play tank/support role. I really don't like Lucio for example, but he is my most played hero simply because most of the team lacks a support, but he is also so effective with pugs. Mercy is really strong with a good team, but with bunch of randoms all doing their own thing it is difficult to remain protected and mobile. My top 3-4 heroes form over 50% of my time played. They include Lucio, Zarya, Mercy and Soldier 76. Soldier also provides healing which is why I play him, I don't particularly find him interesting to learn or to play he is just able to provide some much needed healing and I pick him when that is required but my brain is about to self destruct from playing Lucio for past 5-6 matches.

Every time I make the first pick and I go with someone I want to learn or want to play more on (Reaper/Tracer/Junkrat/Pharah) I head out of the spawn and there's high likelyhood my team is lacking a tank or a support, I then have to watch my team get stomped or run back to spawn and make up for other people's mistake. I can understand not wanting to play those roles, but when I feel forced to fill one of the roles so many matches in a row it starts to look like there's small portion of the player base sacrificing part of their experience to be stuck playing roles that nobody else agrees to play.

There are so many heroes that I still haven't played for more than 20-30 minutes total while I have others that I have 5-6 hours total played on. It annoys me, especially since unless I am playing a viable comp it is pretty pointless to play "whatever" you want as your team will get stomped. Unless you just roll an offensive hero and want to brag with some solo elimination counter, then you are out of luck in that case.

Yeah, filling out team roles can be an annoying experience. Like I mentioned, if I don't insta-lock damage I'm stuck healing/tanking and watching my team kill nothing. It sucks but all you can do is instant lock what you want and leave someone else to fill in some games. Share the load and do it yourself sometimes, then let someone else shoulder it other times. Or try some hybrid play styles, they have really altered my win rate in solo Q.

Plus for some reason that mech feels really fragile. She must have huge crit zones, because her health drops like a rock from basically anything.
Her damage is obviously much better close up, but her actual range is quite far and she can get a LOT of eliminations (assists on kills, not so many actual death blows) without dying because of her health pool.

I seem to end up on teams with crappy snipers or no snipers, so I like to use her to fly up and knock any Hanzo/Widowmaker and even sometimes characters like McCree off their perch when I see them. Sometimes I can surprise them so bad that I can kill them. Hanzo is more difficult because of the amount of damage he can do in close range but Widows usually freak out and start trying to spray their machine gun while backpedaling. At least knocking them off their perch repeatedly usually messes with them enough to get them to switch characters because they can't get their sniping off on the team.

And her pistol DOES do more damage, and at longer range, but she's just SOOOO fragile outside of the mech. Have to strafe back and forth like a madman to avoid getting killed by whoever just knocked you out of the mech, without the agility of a Tracer but the same health pool so she'll get squished easily if she can't get behind her teammates when she's out of her mech.

The two most irritating for me on D.Va right now are when Tracer manages to stick a pulse bomb to me and blow my mech up, because that's a sure death for my non-mech character as she'll be right back up my behind when I'm out of it...and McCree because one flashbang and fan the hammer knocks her out of her mech and she's a pretty easy target for him after that.

It seems I have finally found use for Winston. Whenever enemy team has those annoying pests like good Tracer, Genji, ect. Winston can at very least force them to simply put Fuck Off. I hate good Tracers. I hate good Genjis. Perhaps I finally have something against it.

I haven't played the game in a few days. Got Legion beta, even then, wasn't playing it much. Game gets old quickly.

My question is how will the game survive compared to TF2, which has a strong community of player created content, maps, weapons, etc.

If it is like HoTS can't say more than 4-5 months with this scale of community. Especially since there's no real progression path, you are supposed to play the game simply cause you enjoy the gameplay. Works for some, but some want to feel like they are working towards something whether it is a cosmetic or an actual upgrade. You can't really work towards something that is random and the amount of skins would need to increase drastically soon, if they wanted to stay ahead of the curve. I am only level 40 and already have large number of the skins unlocked with 4-6 boxes bought.

The trick is that in solo-PvP games (In other words: You against the world), if things go wrong you messed up or you got outplayed, but in a team-based game there are other players who might at some point mess up and there's nothing you can do about it, which breeds frustration far beyond personal failure.

And of course, with the awesome PR, videos and excellent character designs, Overwatch attracted a lot of people who haven't played many (or indeed any) team-based shooters before (I'm one of them, TBH), and that can cause frustrations for both the newbies and FPS-veterans alike, i also started all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (don't ask), but packed it in because of the sheer frustration i felt from sucking so badly that i spend more time staring at killcam and running back than i do fighting...

Community wise, this game is falling into the same trap that is LoL/Dota. I can't see it comparing up to TF2, especially with this huge update that game has planned. It's funny how other games make you appropriate TF2. No one will give a damn if you suck in it or whatever class you want to play! The scoreboard existing isn't what makes players toxic.

But I have a feeling that's why Blizz made the game P2P in the first place. We can uninstall all we want, but they already got our money from us.

tired of seeing hanzo/bastion/torbjorn turret potgs. no skill at all. just garbage.

tired of abilities not going off and getting shot behind walls because of favor the shooter.

tired of getting duplicate loot from loot boxes that are only work 5c

tired of having to tell people they need to put pressure on snipers

wish i got more credit where it is due when my game is on point and i get like 20 solo kills without any kind of support and clutch objectives

liked genji a lot at first but starting to feel pretty weak. now leaning towards 76 as my best games tend to be played at mid range. wanted to like tracer, but too squishy. Can't ever have fun as McCree because of my teams. Reaper is fun. Would be more fun if was better acquainted with.

Seems like a decent game but this favor the shooter bullshit is starting to make it unplayable. =/

Duplicates are worth 20% the buying price. Get a 1000c duplicate and you'll get 200c. You're basically complaining that you're getting 25c common sprays.

I sigh and switch to Reinhart, we get to first objective about 30 seconds into overtime then win easily with over a minute to spare on final objective. I got play of the game as Reinhart, but Genji's just so much more fun...
if you wanna win you have to swap, i play heroes i dnt enjoy as muc has others but you get more exp in the end, i love reinhardt and mercy for tank and support

I wish Blizzard would release some info on exactly how matchmaking works in this game. I get bad games here and there sure, but some people here act like they literally only ever get shit teams no matter what they do. Perhaps people should be posting their win rates when they claim they only ever get bad teams. I rarely ever find toxic players either, in fact most of the time even if someone says something pretty much no one responds. Feels really weird to read some posts and wonder if I'm playing the same game. I do get stuck playing support more often than I'd like but that's a problem in almost any game that requires a healer character.

Level 43 right now. Normally I hate FPS games. Don't think I've actually sat down and played one since Halo 2. Loving this game so far. No complaints here, 59% win rate. Some teams are dumb, some are amazing. Just like any other team based competitive game.

It probably has something to do with players that also are prone to get angry or shit talk. I don't talk in game unless it's "gg" "thank you" or "nice job" and I've rarely seen anyone get salty while playing. It might also have something to do with player win rate. I'm sitting at 59%, and I'm noticing people with terrible win rates find salty people.

That's why I'm wondering the win rates of people who are routinely finding poor teams. I'm by no means an amazing player but the completely onesided games I get into are typically few and far between and usually after it's over my team will all bail so we don't even get to try again. I can't help but feel like some people are just to quick to throw in the towel and declare a team hopeless even though the game will mix up the teams if a loss is extremely bad.
