People do things because they want to. For me, I play today for the same reason I have been playing since Jan 2005. It's an inexpensive hobby that I have access to 24hrs a day, and 6 to 7 days a weeks, 52wks a yr. I am climbing my ass out of debt, and I am not a particularly social person in real life. So, in exchange for 15/mo I get social time, gaming, immersion, relaxation, and whatever other illusion I can create that keeps the world interesting to me.

My question is: Why are you? If you aren't, then why did you feel the need to make a post?

yes i know what you mean, certain people playing the game still just keep making new threads regularly about why they dislike the game, it's very tiresome, i don't think i could facepalm hard enough when i see them keep popping up

Just me personally but once I complete all of my raiding goals on my main, then I start to level alts, farm gold, and collect transmog. I don't log in as much but still enjoy spending a relaxing afternoon on alts. Playing a bit of Overwatch too in the mean time

I dont play that often so i still have a lot to do, also i have a couple of character that i have to lvl up and there's always a couple of raids that i have to do every week cause... RNG

Tbh main reason is probably that i'm stuck on a very old computer at the moment that can't really run anything more recent i'd like to play, which is something i'm getting fixed sometime this summer.

I play currently for a lot of reasons.

1. I enjoy the game as a whole.
2. I talk to my friends that are on Bnet.
3. I RP and work on my backstories and MRP profiles.
4. I've been working on achievements and my collections.
5. I've been saving up gold for anything that I may want or need.
6. I've been collecting Crystallized Fel.
7. I've been getting groups together for mythic dungeons to try and acquire the BoA trinkets.
8. I've also been working on amassing transmog items for the future appearance tab.
9. Etc. Many odds and ends.

Someone who posts such threads as "WoW became a reflection of communism" in which he talks about how the game is world of welfare, "Unsubbed because of lfr" which speaks for itself, "does anyone else think wow became too homosexual" in which he talks about how there is not enough manly things in wow, "is there a chance to see paula patton naked in wow"...and the real kicker "I have not been raided by the fbi, but by the NSA" where he talks about how a black ops operation was pulled on him because the NSA confused having CP (conquest points) for having kiddie porno.

Collecting mounts, leveling and gearing alts for more tries per week to get said mounts, earning gold and steadily progressing towards archaeology achievements. Nothing fancy, just a regular itch combined with procrastination.

i was wonderin this too, i only recentely came back to the game, today i did a 9 hour work day, came home logged did the dailies, the garrison run around and dont know what else to do in game anymore, i have done plenty of achieves, cant break the 110 mark to hit heroics (epic pvp gear) and pvp is dull to me
so logged off :\

Also wotlk was the start of wows sub loss. It brought in less then a million players. Where the other 2 brought in about 5 million... so it wasn't fully catas fault. Cata was just the second phase of the hil

WotLK was NOT the start of wow's sub loss. WotLK peaked at 12m subs and HELD it for a good year or so, then cata came and THAT'S when subs fell to 7m.

Rather narrow-minded assumptions there.
Firstly that everyone is as well progressed as you are, and have "run out" of their preferred content, which I assume to be raiding in your case.
And that activities are unappealing to everyone because they aren't interesting or appealing to you.
