/vg/ is a good board for actual game discussions instead of this shit house. Just ignore the waifu posters and the occasional retards
4Chan is most notorious for /b/ and pretty much the birthplace of Anonymous. The boards themselves can either have a good community or a shit community depending on which board you go to, /a/ /v/ /vg/ are typically much more tame (and probably even more mature) than a lot of other forums.
That's the trouble. People here don't know a shitpost from their own shit, so it feeds endlessly and gets more and more frustrating to read the longer it goes on. It's getting worse, too. The community here is so divided on almost every topic, and on so many different topics, that a good discussion about just about anything is impossible.
If you think 4chan isn't a circle jerk you need to lurk more. Silly manlet.
ITT: MMO-C posters having a more civil discussion about a completely different website than they do about almost any other topic
Probably because you expect bad from 4chan.
But like others have said, most of the horror stories of 4chan is from the past. Usually when my friend would go on /b/ a month or two ago, it would either be nudity, YLYL (or whatever) threads, some gore, and that stupid banana.

4chan /b/ is a shadow of what it used to be.
I remember when I started lurking on there back in 2008...
I still occasionally browse /mu/ for circlejerks and banter on shitty albums/artists
You know that to pedos its probably far more convenient to share it on a site that does not put a lot of effort in removing it?
Using MMOC as an example is silly, you can't upload pics to it.

wow dude, amazing argument, it totally points out what is wrong with it!
...oh wait.
I used to visit /x/ when I needed some creepypasta to read.
That was years ago, and now I do not know where to look. /x/ devolved in to a circle jerk of conspiracy theorists that usually had nothing to do with the Paranormal. And there's those Tulpa discussions for sure. I sometimes wonder what happened to cause that change, but then I do not think of it much anymore.
It's not that bad, except for the traps. And browsing it in public is usually an bad idea.
