Black voters are a reliable voting block, and they get thrown in prison thanks to Clinton's crime bill. That is what being a loyal voter gets you.

That voting block helped Obama win Overwhelming in 2008 and helped him beat Romney in 2012. This notion that millennials are still 18 year olds who don't vote is ridiculous. At least half are over 30 or entering their 30s in the next 4 years. Do you really want to the Democrats to repeat the mistake the Republicans seem to be making over and over and relying on older voters who kick the bucket every 10 years? Look at the break down, people at the age of 45 or below who are much more liberal. The Dems would be wise to bring them in instead of continually mocking them and not taking them seriously.

Sure, among other demographics. Its not like Sanders has a lock on the youth or liberal vote. Nor did I say anything about Millenials.

I'm not sure what you're saying has to do with what I said...are you saying yes or no to supporting the party nominee once it's decided? (And we all know it is so don't pretend otherwise...even Bernie in his speech tonight laid the groundwork to admitting as much)

Any act of petty revenge will easily make a Martyr out of him. I mean he wasn't super influential over the party before except when the party needed to shore up Liberal support.

Letting that passion rot is a super bad idea. It will create a lot of disaffected voters. Bernie killed it with the youth vote, and the DNC has been holding onto hope for dear life that the Youth vote as we age will be lock stock Democrats. This election seriously jeopardizes that, by creating disaffected voters, the DNC could loose access to that demographic it wants desperately to be its stalwarts as the Baby Boomers die off.

My family is fairly well off, and educated but my mother voted Labour back home in the UK, and my dad is mostly a-political. But then again do I count as Lefty? I've been called everything on these boards from Nazi to Communist depending on the thread.

The comparison between Bernie and Trump isn't too far off. Both tap into something, mainly the disaffected voters who feel cheated by the process. The young who see their futures being sacrificed and the working class in the rust belt whom both parties abandoned long ago for riches elsewhere.

In general I think the country is more or less a dangerously unmanaged forest, waiting for a single spark to light the decades of debris and kindling ablaze. Sorry I'm from California and basically planes flying fire retardant is our Summer State Bird. XD

America has always had a bit of a wild streak, both in our environment and in our politicians. Like when Webster was caned and had to take a leave form the Senate for awhile in the mid 1800's. Thanks wilderness! Luckily i dont think this is anywhere close to 1858 levels of shenaniganz.

but I do think the upper people and establishment have taken notice. As my rather business minded father stated "If some of the more desperate needs arent addressed, we're likely to get something worse than a socialist eventually as a way to try and force the system to fix itself". I dont think they'll ignore it, but i could be wrong because politics is weird. I certainly know many of the more rational minded private business people recognize the best way to continue doing business is helping out the poor to keep an actual revolution form happening. Which isnt really truely moral but better than ignoring

Of course, he had to. Lets not be silly and naive here. You heard his supporters. They are so used to reacting with hate and rancor when mentioning Clinton or Trump but when he first said he talked with Obama there was nothing but stunned silence. No one knew how to react. They haven't been told HOW to react to Obama so they didn't.

I have very little faith in this 'revolution' staying together past the primary. Bernie knows this, so he's going to stretch it all the way to the convention in the hopes to push the party platform more left. There is no last minute hail mary Sanders nomination. He knows it, I know it and so should everyone else.

I am far too pessimistic about people or the future. I think getting an MA in History does that, you get nihilistic seeing all the examples of the past.

As a matter of survival I think we will TRY to save ourselves. I just worry how late it will happen. I do believe Climate change is a definitive wall coming up. More over internal problems and decaying infrastructure are all getting worse. Blah, we may save ourselves, but will it be before its too late? I place money in it being after its too late but I am ever the dark storm clouds type person.

I think I've been called a liberal, libertarian, and even a republican on these forums... Yet if I had to classify myself it would probably be a progressive, but i'm also believe in the 2nd amendment. LOL

I would disagree, one can freely type what they wish. I mean sure, people can rush to type and I'd accept that answer, but zilch?

Others support Hillary and are was able to articulate something and at least get were I am coming from. Is Wells defective in this respect or is it just a game of one upsmanship and being contrarian with every post?
