Rules:

- One random character to be polled every day, by rolling the dice. There is no predetermined list of names, so ANY character in the Warcraft universe could appear at any given day.
- Characters need 5 nominations to make it to the next poll. Meaning, any given character to get 5 unique nominations will be due the next day instead of picking a random character.
- If a character has two incarnations, both from the main and alternative universes, then the poll will be referring to both versions simultaneously.
- Every ten days, we will have a major character up, instead of a random! This will serve the purpose of giving you guys something to look forward to for sticking around. Meaning, Days #10,20,30... etc will be guaranteed to have a big name showing. This doesn't mean they won't appear in random days though, nor that you should stop nominating them if you want to see them sooner.

He's not THAT bad, he just got the spotlight for too long while other characters were being ignored. That's not a badly written character, that's a badly written story.

Besides, you just got to love how snarky he was going to be in Lord of the Clans.

4/10. Started out as a great character, abandoned due to murders and plots among the orcs, forced to fight in the arena for humans, he found out about his people and set to free them and start a new life together, as one people. I liked that he was flawed (perfect characters are not interesting to me) and turned a blind eye to the Warsong to keep them in the Horde and tried to act mighty etc.

But then... they made him Go'el. He sort of abandoned the Horde... but only when the Horde wasn't in danger (as shown by the fact that he doesn't want to get involved into the fights between Alliance-Horde, even if Garrosh's dark shamans and molten giants threaten the balance, even when Garrosh nukes Theramore... but then when Jaina wants to flood Orgrimmar, he's there immediately to stop her for example). He becomes some sort of hypocrite who believes he is above the factions. He believes himself lower than the dragon aspects and the elemental aspects... but then uses the power of the elements to cheat in mak'gora. Essentially he became a hypocrite thinking he's above the rest and acting like a good boy unless it doesn't suit him. To add that we have to see his wedding instead of an event that would have protected the Well of Eternity and help him forget his guilt like it wasn't his? That was so lame. And Aggra, while originally she was introduced as a powerful woman orc in the book, in-game most of what we saw of her was some sort of arm-candy maiden who keeps calling Thrall Go'el all the time.

Thrall is one of the worst ruined characters from Warcraft 3 in my opinion.

This was a really tough one, but I ended up giving him 7/10.

Basically, like @Xiu the Timewanderer mentioned, he was not THAT much ruined to me. Sure, I prefer if Cataclysm didn't go all "Thrall this, Thrall that" or more like "Go'el Go'el Go'el Go'el", but I still could swallow it. Also, I don't think Garrosh's kill was anyone's and Thrall didn't steal shit from anybody.

My gripe on him is that, despite being heavily featured, he wasn't featured when he was potentially supposed to the most; the face off with AU Grommash and AU Doomhammer. I get it that Blizzard was trying to feature Thrall less, but here is where he would have actually fitted the most to appear...

I <3 Thrall. He was one of the first characters that truly made me smile. Will always remember going to pick up a quest from him as a total noob to the game, clicking on him for the first time and hearing him say, "Welcome to Orgrimmar. Have you come to serve the Horde?"
Also some of my fondest memories were doing primitive scenario-type stuff with him -- The Battle for Undercity, so epic!

10/10. The sheer amount of story... the things he's done, and had to do, the achievements he has made in his lifetime. All of that culminates in a character that is really, really deep, and rooted in lore, along with being one of the most memorable, and interesting characters I Know.

1/10. Cata/MoP/WoD has ruined him for me, with him hogging the spotlight everywhere he went and gone from leading the horde to becoming the new earth warden and the top shaman of Azeroth and being in the end cinematic of em (ok exclude wod but doesn't mean he wasn't everywhere there too!). and worst of all is that he made Garrosh warchief, even though Garrosh himself didn't want to be warchief. Thus he indirectly caused the destruction of Theramore and Cairne's death, and he doesn't even blame himself for it even when Garrosh points it out to him in their mak'gora that he left him with the responsibility of leading the horde and that he had to pick up the pieces that the horde was in after Thrall left him + Thrall cheated in that mak'gora.

To me he's as bad as he who shall not be named.

P.s I nominate the Ashbringer himself Alexandros Mograine.

Lord of the Clans was one of the first WoW novels I read, so I developed a liking for Thrall early on in my lore interest. I've since lost interest in him, but the nostalgia remains!
