I like how you only use SOME of the information from the source article to construct your argument. That's very typical of right-wingers; they won't outright lie, but they'll omit key information or tell half truths, or in some cases, they'll completely avoid the question.

Other points in the article point towards this appointment basically being the idea of Cheryl Mills.

Add to that the fact that the appointee in question had a background in cyber security (I really hate that term; 'cyber' anything sounds like a catch phrase from the 1990s), and the following statement:

“All I know is that the charter does lay out or stipulate that [they're] looking for a broad range of experiences. It’s not unimaginable that a businessman, an international businessman, might bring a certain level of expertise or knowledge or experience to such a job.”

This was such a low-level issue that nobody of note had any knowledge of it; hence, they wanted to, you know, look into it before answering questions.
It'd be like going to the CEO of Wal Mart to ask about the Assistant Manager of their Boise, ID store; they probably have very little information on hand about such an individual, and need time to look into his personnel file. Sounds pretty reasonable to me.

And "sensitive job" is kind of misleading;

"the board’s primary purpose was to gather an array of experts on nuclear weapons and arms control to constantly assess and update the nation’s nuclear strategy."

I don't see what the big fucking deal is. It's a bunch of people who get paid to sit around and say, "let's not nuke anybody today." It's not like he had access to the fucking launch codes or something.


The long and short of it is this. Someone other than Hillary Clinton appointed a guy whose resume may have been a little light, but was not completely unqualified. Still, it was enough to raise some valid questions about his suitability. Rather than deal with the headache, he resigned instead of making a stink about it. It seems pretty clear that Clinton had very little (if anything) to do with it, and indeed, the fellow in question wasn't even on the list of potential appointees given to her.

I just fail to see what the problem is here. A possible affirmative action hire? Maybe someone (who was well within their purview to do so) made a questionable HR decision. A decision that was almost immediately scrutinized, and resulted in the guy resigning soon after?

This is so far beyond "not news" that it's pathetic.
