World of Warcraft is what made Warcraft successful, going further back to Warcraft 1 when it was practically an indie game (people forget that in 1994, Blizzard was an indie dev) was a huge mistake.

You'll have to forgive me, but if I have to choose between what we got or Sam Raimi and his movie concept with a "badass human warrior who's not Varian" as protagonist in a "World of Warcraft" setting, I'll religiously stick to what we got. If there's something I realized from reviews and reactions in general, starting the story from WC1 is the barest of problems. The real problems concerning this movie are strictly cinematographic. The lore is irrelevant. At most, the problem general audience has with the lore is how much overwhelming it feels if you know nothing about it. You weren't going to solve such a problem by making things thrice more messy than they already are.

LOTR was the exact same thing i didnt even know what the hell LOTR was when it hit the big scene yet i understood basically everything because it was explained and done well...Warcraft could have accomplished the samething over 3 flims.

It worked well because the story was incredibly straightforward. Yet you think that Warcraft's "strength" would be the "multiple story arcs" when in fact is the actual problem. Tell one story in a 2-hours long movie is a thing, telling multiple stories in that same time is another.

I'm fucking shocked that basically every living soul watching this movie a second time is coming to this conclusion. I'll be honest, from my sole first experience I can't even imagine it. Guess I'll really have to go a second time, you people are making me curious.

Well, a son is always kinda important to his father without any "special" reason. But I always got the feeling that indeed Callan was particularly important for him for one simple hint: there's no mother to be seen in such family, which is weird.

What he explains why there is no mother in the movie. Comes right out and says exactly what is up with that.

My guess the studio wanted a faster pace in a summer action blockbuster. Question is which one, or even the chinese investors, since their market is making the most out of it.

No one in his sane mind would leave after 10 minutes, at least not if your movie was paid from your hard work and not your mommy's pockets.

Yes, I also have to agree it was way less less noticeable on the second watch. Although I still would've liked more screen time for some characters/relationships and a better sense of time past in certain areas of the film. As a fan, the only thing I can point towards that would've caused this is that I was so hooked looking at things during the first time. The world, the characters that I've wanted to see on the big screen for so long now.

It's the greatest problem and challenge yes....At the same time it's Warcraft's greatest strength and would have been incredible if the challenge was overcome...No body said it should have been the same time frame it needed to be longer for that reason.

To be fair, what helped me is that I watched it solo the second time. I also learned a lesson - don't go watch any of the possible future Warcraft movies with friends. Basically, what happened the first time was that they asked me questions every 3-5 minutes or so, and I'd end up missing out on some details. Well, a lot of it. The first time around, I missed the summoning stone, nearly missed the murloc, missed Medivh's green eyes when laid in pool by Khadgar (which kind of makes him scamper for Dalaran), missed the fact that there's only 3 of current 30 and former 50 of the humans' legions. Missed 80% of the appearances of Kilrogg, Kargath and Grom. Actually, first time, I didn't see Kargath at all. This time, I saw him like 3-4 times. Last time, I saw Kilrogg only once - today, I essentially saw him act like a secretary for Gul'Dan something like 5 times. And plenty more I can't remember right now.
