I'd take the EU as a whole over the US any day of the week. And even the worst parts of Europe right now are still better than some of the areas I've seen in the US.

16 years here has been more than enough to show me the only value here is in the money I can make. Luckily I live within short distance to a large city with a moderate community of Europeans, like an oasis in the middle of a sea of reality tv, wal-marts, and big gulp cups.

Your point makes no sense. It's in Europe's interest to turn the tide around and make this crisis beneficial or at least try. Otherwise you have a horde of desperate people INSIDE your border. How this affect the migration patterns is secondary. Europe can work on securing the borders AT THE SAME TIME. But having a bunch of desperate, hopeless people inside your border is a threat to european security.

The issue with prostitution isn't the sex itself, otherwise porn would be illegal too. It's the inherent vulnerability and exploitable nature of a lot of people involved at the bottom, and criminal entities ability to manipulate and control them using drugs or other leverage.

To get back on the topic: Is the situation as it is, because the greek goverment can't handle the massive flood of immigrants and refugees? Can the greek goverment afford helping the immigants and refugees without it hurting their own citizens?
If the cost of helping the refugees is to condemn some of their own citizens to poverty, then it's only fair that they choose to deny helping them.
