The coin fishing kills it for me, no matter how long I spent fishing in that damned pool in Dalaran in expansions past - I could never get all the coins out.

It took me a few years to get them. Of course, I wasn't farming it every day. Or even regularly, really. It's a definite lesson in tenacity, for sure.

Getting that pole is just going to take time, and a lot of luck if you want it quick. Fuck those coins. Still cant be bothered to fish up the old ones

As far as the fishing prerequisites, I'm thankful to already have the coins done.

I just hope that Blizzard come down hard on fish botting in legion because it will really suck to have people getting all these perks without any effort..I know that honorbuddy had a ban wave now a few times but certain bots dedicated to fishing never seem to be caught unless people report players. As someone who enjoys fishing, I'm looking forward to working on this.. I'm excited about what I see with professions in legion!

I actually find the idea of a fishing artifact funny, and some of the perks are pretty cool. But this is looking like Nat Pagle rep 3.0.

Come on, people. What is the problem of having some prerequisites for the fishing artifact? Only people that like fishing SHOULD obviously go for it - you don't need it if you fish every 6 months.

I for one think the fishing artifact pre-req seems quite OK.

Sure it's a grind, but fishing has always been a bit grindy. These pre-req should be heavy enough, that people who don't like fishing are not going to bother; yet achievable enough that the salty folk among us can get it in not too long of a time.

Making it very easy to get has some big downsides. First of all, everyone will get it because it's easy to get and shiny. Second of all, it will make the fishing profession very shallow.

I was hoping for this. I'm one of those (many) weirdo's who actually enjoy fishing and listening to the sounds and music of the game.

The best thing about this (for you mindless whiners) is it's OPTIONAL.

Great! I sincerely hope they keep the prerequisites for the fishing pole as-is. It SHOULD be something time-consuming requiring dedication to obtain. Hell, I kind of wish it also required you to have all of the previous fishing achievements...then it'd be just the true angling fanatics who get it and not the Johnny-Come-Latelys who want it just for the perks.
