Yep. Last g/f was like, 3 years ago. And that was the only one.

Although I tend to avoid making more female friends. Call it sexist, but having female friends just annoys me. I have to censor myself so I don't offended the delicate personalities of most of them, and I don't care about many of the things they do.

Male friends are just so much lower maintenance and are usually total bros.

According to my wife (who is currently laughing her ass off as she reads this thread over my shoulder), empathy and confidence don't necessarily exist in strict opposition to one-another. You can be both empathetic and confident or assertive - in fact, most women respond favorably to both traits in equal measure. If you act like a doormat, you'll probably turn off a potential mate. If you act like an unfeeling asshole, your relationships are apt to end as quickly as they begin. There is a happy medium to be had.

Friendships? Yes, most likely they do indeed have more female friends. Girlfriends? Not unless they have good confidence in themselves and look at least moderate. If one is missing, the empathy doesn't matter.

Essentially it's the same as I like a brunette woman. It's nice if it's there, but it's not a main criteria.
