He's unfavorable with Latinos. They don't like him. Latinos are conservative mostly. You don't have to like someone to vote for them. He might have pushed them too far though, guess we'll see.

True, a person could be count both candidates as unfavorable but still vote for one. When the gap is that big however, hard to convince anyone that people will vote for the person they dislike over the person they like. The latino fav/unfav gap is not in Trump's favor.

The Orlando thing, tragic as it is, should have helped him. It played right into his hands. The things he said, completely ruined it. People are disgusted by him because of it. He's been making an ass out of himself even more than usual the last few days. Every democratic attack ad is going to have stuff like this mixed with "this person supports these horrible things trumps says". Every seat will be like that. So as a GOP member you have to decide if you should stand with him or run like hell and it would seem a lot are running.

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. They need the votes of the ~1/3 or so of republican voters that make up the natavist Trumpist component, but they also need half of the moderates. Trump has so divided the electorate that its impossible for the republicans to keep both parts in their tent. They will either have to stick with Trump and lose moderates or dump Trump and lose ~1/3 of their base. Its a lose lose scenario with no way out.
