the main reasons I see toxicity raise its head.

Turret builders get the better of the opposite team with better placement and play, yes it is cheesy to sit behind a trollborjn reading facebook and fixing your turrets whilst racking up kills and getting potg, and yes we have ALL done it, or will do it at some point.

Full teams of turret builders, Ughh. They can be dealt with with a co-ordinated group, but pub games are rarely co-ordinated enough, and rarely listen to hints given on chat on how to deal with / switch to toons.

DPS characters screaming for tanks or healers, If a tank or healer asks for the opposite role then I will happily switch over to Mercy or Rhienheart a DPS starts screaming for someone else to switch, then they get told that they should consider switching.

People crying about loosing when they didn't even bother to attack the objectives, this makes me laugh every single time. Due to the way I play Tracer, harassing the team from all angles I get to see our rear defence, the objective, and the opposing teams rear and flanks through out the whole match. The ones that usually start crying ? the high health characters that sit back from the objective trying to pick people off from range.

99% of the time, I will say WP, GG etc even if we loose badly. only time I really loose it is when people bitch about loosing and they never put any effort in, Then they get polity told that if they had helped we may have done better

recent example on volskyer: we took point A in under 2 mins and I thought it was going to be a nice quick game and onto the next map, but then my team decides to start heading down the main choke point, Not a bad tactic if you have tanks, healers and dps working as a team however once our tank died, and the team crumbled they start running in once by one basically feeding the opposite team free kills /facepalm. I ask people to wait, group up and try going down the side routes whilst I would go down the opposite side drawing fire as Tracer to allow them to get close enough to attack as a group. I get told to "shut the fuck up as I didn't know what I was talking about." and other such nonsense, so I just spent the rest of the match just messing around getting some practice in on killing turrets, The last 30 seconds as we head into over time the team gets its act together and makes a proper push on the objective almost making it. I ask "why could we not do that at the start" when I was running back and was told again to STFU and what had I done. Had to smile when I got onto the stats screen with 30+ eliminations.

There really is no reason for saltiness in the game, it is just poor sportsmanship from bad players.

Honestly, I'd probably be a bit miffed if Mercy wasn't buffing/healing and stuck to pistol play. But to each his own, playing sub-optimally isn't against the rules.

I gotta admit I don't tolerate toxic/salty players as well as some. It's why I didn't want to play Dota unless I was with friends. As for Overwatch I bought it a couple of days ago and so far I think it's a great game, but I'm definitely gonna need a lot of practice to get decent at it because my experience in FPS games is pretty low overall. Until then I'll stick to playing with my friends. Games like that are always a lot more fun to play with friends anyway, but it shouldn't always be a negative experience to play with randoms.

That's so wrong, you may be can carry on sitting behind turret as TF2 engineer, but Torbjorn who does nothing but repairing his turret is useless. As Pharah shift, LMB, LMB, E, LMB kills level 2 turret leaving you with ~60 HP if it had nothing to shoot at.

"Full team of turret builders" (6 Torbjorns i guess?) is going to achieve literally nothing.

I remember when Ubersaw was released in TF2 and people screamed at us for picking double medic and healing only each other. Well, enemy team screamed at us too, because two medics under constant uber effect is really hard to deal with

Personally I drop a level 2 turret and go round giving armor to people, and re-deploying my turret when needed. however when I first played him, I have to admit I was a "Turret-hammer guy" till I got to know him a bit better. as for 6 torbs, these can be a pain in the arse to deal with in a pub where no one listens on how to counter them when they are covering each other, not impossible by any means, just really, really annoying.

"suboptimal" is debatable. 11,5k damage, 34 kills, 2 deaths, 8 people rezzed and still won the map. If i'd played something else no one had noticed anything.

And if you played a Soldier you would have 20k damage, 50 kills, 5 deaths and a fuck ton of people killed with your ult.
Its sub optimal because her damage is shit compared to the actual damage dealers not because you might have had a good game playing her.

The 30% damage boost permanently latched onto anyone with more kill potential is vastly superior to a blaster spam Mercy. We did it for the lulz in Beta; sometimes in pub games you'll see it, but it's far from optimal.

You should seriously record 11.5k damage as Mercy.

Sure it is, but it's also dependant how the guys are doing you play with which is generally a casino game. A buffed moron is still a moron.

In any game, competitive or not, there's always going to be a subset of the populace who lose their shit when they don't get it 100% their way. The people who always have this burning desire to attempt at saving face, or tread down harder on someone they've already bested.

The best way to deal with jerks like these is to report them if it becomes too egregious, or leave them hanging with no responses.. which will just serve to drive them even more furious, which is delightful.

I'm also kind of amazed at how many players seem to still think level means much of anything. I started playing a little bit with a guy who is around level 230 right now and the amount of people on the other teams that think they need to trash talk him when we're on the losing side is kinda ridiculous.

Yes, people think that someone who plays a lot will have more "experience" than someone who hasn't but if a lower level player has played other FPS games before, they'll probably have an advantage anyways. If the higher level person is in a pug or just playing for fun with some friends and it's semi-unorganized, what do they expect? One guy to carry his entire team?

I kinda feel bad for him when I see it because it seems like a constant where he's getting trash talked solely for his level. We win? Oh it's just because of his level. We lose? Wow, he must be the crappiest player ever...because of his level.

Well, I don't think they really expect people to cap out anytime soon. Blizzard just wanted there to be a way that people could still earn loot boxes for playing. By the time someone got to 1890 they would have had all of the items long before that anyways plus plenty of extra gold lying around to buy whatever new skins get added.

I'm level 145 with 125 hours and at least 10 hours sunk into Mystery Heroes brawl last week, and most of my boxes have 2-3 items in them I already have. Mostly sprays or blue quality items, with an occasional purple. The items I still need are many of the legendary and epic skins/items.

I just find it amusing that people in game are still so hung up on player level when it doesn't matter.

tbh if you wanna do dmg you pick a dmg class healers do shit damage, mercy isnt bad at it but if you pick support people do expect you to support, its like being a healer in a dungeon in wow and trying to DPS the boss

This. The idea that humans get a personality transplant based on what .exe is open on their computer is pretty hilarious. Interacting with humans where cooperation and reliance is involved is gonna result in arguments and bitching, every time.
