Probably a concession Trump made to appease the GOP base.

Trump might be tweeting that he "fired" the top aide, to make it seem like his people arent jumping ship, when the aide actually did resign for x reasons.

I'm not so sure about that. It's pretty obvious Lewandowski wasn't on good terms with the R establishment. Trump needs their backing if he actually intends to win the election. They were calling for him to be fired way back when that Breitbart reporter took issue with him grabbing her.

That said, I absolutely do not think Trump's tone or campaign will change. It's not like he was Lewandowski's mouthpiece. Unless Lewandowski was the one that told him to take a positive stance on gun control and then the next day to say that he would put a gun on every barstool.

The initial report comes from the New York Times apparently.
According to that report, it was a firing in the making for several weeks already.

Thats very true, mate, but after following the RNC Vs. DNC mud fight since the start of the primaries on varius US/EU websites and televison, I take everything they say with a bucket of salt ;-)

I dont understand, why people believe their nominees, when they tell what is outright lies and imposible things they "promise" to do, if they get elected POTUS.

Here in Denmark, our politicians keep about 75-80% of what they promise to make in what is called "Regerings Grundlaget" and our current ruling goverment party (right) has kept almost every promise they made, which basicly means, more power and money to the rich and less to the middle / poor*.

*In Denmark, being poor isnt like being poor in the rest of the western hemisphere.

If it is from the NYT the truth is probably opposite to whatever they say.
There is the sad paradox of a world which is more and more sensitive about being politically correct, almost to the point of ridicule, yet does not wish to acknowledge or to respect believers’ faith in God

The news in the US much like the country is a whole lot more polarized then it is in Europe, i assume as a Dane you still have news stations or media that supplies news that isn't completely in the hands of big multinationals that prefer controversy over bringing the news correctly and as unbiased as possible. You don't really have that over there, people literally tune into their news station that represents their believes and ideals, anything else they believe is a lie those news stations actually play in on that.

I do wonder why they fired him when the issue isn't Lewandowski but Trump himself. Does anyone honestly believe Trump takes and follows the advice of others? No, its Trump being Trump, in other words being a bigoted, racist, conspiracy theory peddling whack job, which is the problem. While that works on the lunatic paranoid racist right the republicans themselves have created, the other 75% of the electorate recoil in horror when they see what they are being asked to align with. This firing will change nothing, and Trump has gone way too far in his fringe right nuttiness to walk it back and be believed, even if he had a desire to.

Maybe Dump is a true Republican after all... The party of personal responsibility blaming somebody else when they're the ones at fault. :P

Bet you Donald Dump fired him for being angry that his poll numbers have hit rock bottom, so clearly its his campaign manager's fault - not Dump's own public display if hipocracy, bigotry and just plain White-trash level of outright stupidity.

    That's a rather disingenuous claim.

The opposite would be a promotion. lol
    But he was fired.
Just why, and how it came to it is the question.

Asked if staff was notified of Corey decision, campaign source tells me it's "bedlam in the Trump campaign. No one knows what is happening."
