I'm okay with this, despite the kid not being unable to consent. The kid was a minor though, but legal age of adulthood and age of consent are different in most places.

I slightly disagree with that, 12-16 they deferentially look a little too young, 17-22 is when it is hard to tell, when i was around that age it was safer just to stay away from the dating scene.

That's fair, doesn't matter if they are of legal age a teacher or person of authority shouldn't be in relationships with their subordinates. It creates an uneven playing field for other students that will have to bust their ass off x10 as hard while this student probably gets free grades for sex.

Doesn't seem like it, since I just read a news article that in my country a teacher was allowed to continue teaching even after 1,5 years of investigations for spreading child porn under which 14.000 movies. Court posed he didn't pose a threat for society because he never acted upon it outside of engaging in private activities behind his PC. He is not allowed to be fired because in my country there is such a thing as "privacy of investigation" and private businesses can be fined for trying to punish someone over their private life including court sentences and investigations.

Isn't that what you guys want anyway? Laws that regulate private businesses and ties their hands behind their backs?

It has nothing to do with child pornography. Having sex with one of your own students is a breach of professional ethics. He's in a position of authority over the student.

If it were just some Random 17 year old...then it wouldn't be an issue because of the legal age of consent being 16.
