Lot and lots of Alliance players who don't care about high elves will complain that the Horde is getting an actual new race, while they are getting a race that existed on the other side for 10 years. And they would be right.

Yeah because every decision made by important characters in Warcraft has always been absolute, immutable and affected every other character in the exact same way.
You should get out of the Caverns of Time every once in a while.

And you should bother to actually pay attention to a story instead of ignoring large parts of it all to make your argument for blood elves ever going neutral make any sense. The Purge of Dalaran effected the common blood elf. This is why they became more horde than ever.

So are the Wisps. I doubt they are going to be playable anytime soon. Perhaps Alliance players should manage their expectations better.

If you were correct, all High elves would be Horde.
    They aren't.

For you to be correct, all races that ever became playable in the Alliance would be / have been former allies.
    They weren't.

It was still something new to experiment as a player. Gameplay > Lore.

And a new race is something important. The backlash will be momentous if Blizzard decides to work on an actual new race for only one faction.

Yea the future of the race is called blood elves, and they have cemented themselves in the Horde, where have you been?

if anyone is stuck in caverns of time its you, because your adamant on times changing. The Blood elves went further into the Horde with every xpac.

You are implying High Elves would require no work.
High Elves can be given different voices, animations, haircuts, and most important of all - starting experience and representative NPCs that will help you integrate into the story.
Unless for you models > gameplay > lore.

and once again the dumbest of all high elf arguments rears its ugly head. High elves look exactly the same as blood elf, any voices, haircuts, animations would go to the Blood elves first because they are the exact same race, and more importantly blood elves are playable.

Yes they did. And moving the stereotypical Elves to an atypical faction was a big, bold move.

You want Blizzard to spend time, effort and energy reasserting the fantasy status quo?

    How bloody dull is that?

Only according to you. A large portion of the community would be happy with such a decision, and I don't see how it would bother anyone to finally have the complete, RTS factions within the game as playable options.

Not only for me, but for Blizzard.

Starting zones and representative NPCs are not the "most important of all". Working on these is actually not very rewarding for Blizzard. People often forget about the starting experience as quick as they did it. When people trashes Cataclysm, they never even think of the Goblin and Worgen starting zones, they just remember the last raid.

Blizzard will continue to do starting zones, because they're cool from a design standpoint, and people will call them lazy if they don't, but they're not the driving factor when they decide to introduce a new race.

The vast majority of the people who play this game cares very little about the Lore. That's a basic fact.

And really, not thinking that Alliance players would get angry to have the blood elves but with blue eyes while the Horde gets an actual new race is delusional. Some people will be happy about that, but they will be in the minority. Here's how well received was a post about High elves (kinda), not in the lore forum, but in the Legion Beta one : http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...Everyone-happy

Lol as someone else said, "warcraft lore isn't a fossil" High elves never were a major Alliance race, and now they moved on further and over 90% of them joined the Horde. Its time for you to move on and pick something else to whine about.

Shhh, no. Given the lack of creativity in obsessions dropping the High Elves would only result in an even bigger flood of "Salvoinis is Hitler and the Blight is worse than Hiroshima". I'd rather have some of them obsess over High Elves instead. At least it's pure in a way, in the end it's people who just want to play a race they like on the faction they like (and said race was once affiliated with), just ignoring the unlikelihood of that ever happening. While the other is pure, unredeemable shitpost.

Lore sense? Adding a playable race has little to do with "lore sense" anyway, it's mostly about game mechanics. "Lore sense" High Elves are already part of the Alliance, even though they're clearly not in par with the other races in terms of political weight within the faction, you mostly got a single military organization serving Dalaran and some High Elves diplomatically engaged with the Alliance far away in the Hinterlands. They're not even barely close to the importance and the presence High Elves had in the Alliance back to WC2-WC3, understandable if we consider how 90% of their currently remaning members are Horde members.

The faction balance is an issue but is like pointing at the straw while ignoring the beam. The obvious reason why they'll never be playable is because such race got introduced as new playable Horde race 10 years ago already, the side of this race that actually matters and where the vast majority of its lore stick. High Elves in the Alliance are just there to stir some nostalgic feelings, much like the Stonemaul and Revantusk (Ogres and Forest Trolls respectively) do in the Horde and they would get the same amount of screen time if it wasn't for that accursed abomination created by Knaak.

    You got it wrong.
I'm against know-it-all people who distort and ignore arguments they call delusional in their attempt of enforcing equally delusional predictions.

At this point almost all realistically potential new races are a nightmare to implement in one way or another.
Some are hard due to models (naga, centaurs and 2-head ogres?) others low on popularity, others require more Lore development.

Some people share their arguments for race a or b.
Others just come here to "win" an argument.

There are 3 absolute thruths in this shitpostfest:
1 - None of us know which races will be added.
2 - If Blizzard decides to add a race, no matter how unlikely you think it might be Lorewise, they can make it happen in a believable way
3 - There will always be whining no matter what races are added.

So knock yourselves out deciding who is the best prophet.

    I'm not defending High Elves.
I'm just attacking silly know-it-all naysayer prophecies.
The difference is that I dont need to ignore, distort or exagerate to make my points.

    Fun fact:
I checked your signature, then realized those that first mentioned high elves did so among other races they consider plausible, and then the naysayers turn it into a "why high elves will never, 100% guaranteed, be playable" diacussion.
