That's because Spain refuses to allow them to be acknowledged as a country and thus can't have an NT.

Neither of them are recognised by FIFA or UEFA.

Who will their inhabitants cheer for?

They have a NT. They were in the group D of the qualifier.

When saying "the Isles" we usually mean the British ones.

They can and did. It was their first time in the Euro qualifiers though.

They just couldn't be drawn in the same group as Spain due to the political problems.

They were in Group D for the qualifiers. Along with Germany, Poland, ROI, Scotland and Georgia.

UEFA basically assumed they wouldn't go through so they wouldn't have to worry about them facing Spain in tournament proper.

    I stand happily corrected.

Sad thing is, it is just a political thing with Spain. Everyone that I know, family, friends, and everyone else, doesn't care about it.

The only other relevant political problem was between Azerbaijan and Armenia, who also couldn't be drawn together due to a border dispute.

To be fair to Gibraltar they have a population of 30,000 to Scotland's 5.295 million.

The Stade de France has a capacity of 81,338....

What a great game from Ireland. Delighted to see them through. They deserve it.

Wonder why the Germans don't use Fraktur
Off-topic, but: Fraktur is mildly associated with right-wing extremists / neo-nazis since they are very fond of using it. That sometimes makes other germans a bit hesistant to use it.

Baseball is a great game to play. Painful to watch in my opinion. Rugby is THE best game to watch.

I prefer watching cricket to baseball.

American Football is still my favourite spectator sport though.
