Difference being the remain camp had honest to god evidence from experts backing them up. The exit camp can be summed up as "Nuhuh. Immigrants and UK number 1 woo"

Except the premise the leave vote was sold on was that things will instantly be better. Except we'll still be under EU regulations for two years, and will need to adhere to them even after those two years in order to trade with the EU (because two regulatory regimes is inefficient and basically unworkable).
