There really isn't much DoT management. a couple buttons you press on CD, and/or passive effects on abilities you'd be using anyway or that are maintained indefinitely once you apply them. There are no abilities with no CD that apply a DoT whose timer you need to watch and refresh.

  2. #422
Lacerate is the main DoT. It's a bleed affected by pandemic extension. Its duration is longer than its cooldown. You give yourself more wiggle room when you apply it in the refresh window like druids do.

My question is pretty specific, and I'm hoping that with a few more heads it'll be a clear answer, but my question is about the 100 talent Aspect of the Beast. Mainly just doing research about the spec.

For the most part I'm just hitting dummies, getting an idea for rotation and flow, priorities and what not, but the talent AotB at first glance seems kinda weak but I've noticed a significant increase in the number of hunting companion procs when I use this talent. The ability in recount/skada comes up as an attack generated from the pet and is physical and given the tool-tip for our mastery it doesn't specifically say auto-attacks it says attacks. My question is if anyone else has done any testing with it? Would do some testing to back up what I've been finding or have just been flukes? Does the dot or initial application interact with our mastery? Would like to know thanks!

You're going to find this a very unwelcome and hostile class forum if you aren't willing to spend 10 minutes looking back for information that's already been discussed in depth on previous pages.

no problem, right-these spells are good ?

Current stat prio(from Simc) for SV is Agi > Vers > Haste >> Crit >>>>>>>>>>>> Mastery

Right way to play the spec is to take Way of the Mok'nathal(T15), then using Flanking Strike only as a button to prevent you from capping Focus, not on CD. T100 talent should be Expert Trapper, it is nuts for ST.

Just ignore Mastery, pretend it doesn't exist because it's shit. And pretend Flanking Strike is Aimed Shot or something.

There is so much mastery on gear this tier

Then that would imply that you don't play SV, at least on a competitive level(if on average 40% of your gear has Mastery, then that means you have that much less secondaries compared to other specs). And that gearing for SV is only through lucky Titanforge procs from World Quests/Heroic Dungeon gear.

Mastery sucks, if they don't change it, SV will remaing the worst scaling spec in the game(it already is, with Vers being best stat).

At this point they seriously should just add "...and increases Mongoose Bite damage by X%" to the mastery tooltip if they are so dead set on the charge procs.

Been playing SV more & more, some PvP in the dalaran underbelly, we're pretty beastly in a straight up fight, & I'm liking it more & more the more time I play it.

Agreed. I tested it on the PTR the other day. Stood my ground against an Outlaw and a fire mage. Was fun as hell.

Had a friend tell me surv was garbage, I have been playing it on the PTR and I will agree the spec is fun. Great CC and Dmg atm.

I like it, too. Only thing I'm afraid of is falling behind in the long run because of the stat weirdness (would be Frost DK all over again :P)

    Hey guys,

I noticed that a lot of people are interested in the basics of a rotation priority, I'm quite new myself and this is my 1st WeakAura, so I am open to criticism.

I made this WeakAura for the PTR which turns it in to a whack-a-mole style of play, which should be easier than having 20 brand new abilities thrown at you,

Admittedly, this won't cover any artifact stuff since I'm not in the beta - but let me know if you spot anything else you would like me to change!

For the new players, your rotation and priority will be something like this:

    Harpoon>Explosive Trap>Lacerate>Aspect of the Eagle>Mongoose Bite x3>Snake Hunter>Mongoose Bite x3>Trap>Lacerate>Raptor Strike x4

After this you can prioritise as follows:

1)If Aspect of the Eagle is up, repeat the opener with snake hunter.
    2)Keep up Mok'nathal Tactics.
2)If there is more than a minute on the Aspect cooldown, and you have 3 charges of Mongoose Bite, use the 3 charges and then use the 3 Snake Hunter charges.
    3)Keep Lacerate up.
    4)Keep Explosive Trap up.
5)Stay on 1-2 Mongoose Bite charges, if you get a few procs of Hunting Companion feel free to keep burning them until you lose your stacks.
6)Use Flanking Strike to not cap out on energy.

This 'feels' right when playing, and wasn't at all clunky to me. I haven't simulated anything, so let me know if something is out/wrong. I was pulling around 24k on dummies in IF in 680 template gear.

Any questions, let me know, and I will try my best to help!

What about it ? All DK´s have a better version of it in chains of ice. Nothing special with rangers net.

It costs a lot of focus to use.

The new SV goes live with pre-patch, yes? Which means hunters will be able to get drops on polearms? I would like to pickup Xu'tenash, both for use now and transmog later. It doesn't look exactly like the Troll Shadow Hunter weapons, but closer than anything else I can find in game atm. So I'm thinking late July through August will be a period where I can still find groups raiding HFC and will have a chance to get Xu'tenash as personal loot.
