    Why did communism never work?

Seems like a sensible and rational system.

Well, pretty much all communist states in the world have been led by a malevolent dictator, which is the reason why they haven't worked, not communism itself.

But Stalin was not that bad.

Communist governments have to terrorize half their population to remain in power.

Only the worst person to have ever lived. Exponentially worse than Hitler.

    Because it was never tried.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

For the same reason none of the systems work, greed.

It needs more energy and effort to be properly implemented compared to feudalism and capitalism. An endeavor which none is willing to commit to.

edit: In before someone notices "Finnish" in OP's name and claims "lol, Finland is already communust!1".

It's actually very simple. Communism depends on state actors acting in the best interests of all. Where in human history has that ever worked?

The system has rarely been fully enacted. It's an eventuality in Communism.

This is true. Many argue that true communism is an impossibility, and therefore unable to be instituted.

I've always been confused when people use hitler as the go to for "worst person ever" when Stalin is sitting right there.

It's why no PURE system will work. Combination of systems? Definitely.

Communism probably worked a long, long time ago, in small villages, or even smaller groups of people, where everyone's survival was dependent on each other. There might've been a leader in those groups, but most likely, since we managed to survive, they all pulled together, and that's pretty much communism for ya.

While this is sharing of resources, it isn't Marx.

    Kampuchea was true communism.

I'm pretty sure every communist country had a healthy black market, black markets being pure capitalism.
