Indeed, at the highest levels of education (British researchers and scientists), an overwhelming majority (83% !!) supported remaining in EU according to Nature:
    http://www.nature.com/news/scientist...e-poll-1.19636

For example, Peter Higgs refers to Brexit as 'a disaster':
    http://www.irishtimes.com/news/educa...arch-1.2698759

It was mainly the poorly educated people, elder people, and people living outside the major cities who voted for "Brexit" (there being a considerable overlap between these three categories, of course).
I suspect "mainly" in this case means something along the lines "60% of poorly educated people voted leave, 40% of highly educated did", not "everyone poorly educated voted Leave, everyone highly educated voted Remain". That 83% figure comes just from "2000 scientist working in EU", not everyone who is considered highly educated.

Plus, some of the older folk didn't even had opportunity for what is considered "highly educated" nowdays; it doesn't mean they are uninformed however or lack experience.

The biggest irony is that in two days they sunk more money into subsidising banks then they would have for about 20 years in membership fees. This is too rich

You summed it up better than I ever could. There's a clear difference in voting between people who are willing to put in even a small amount of research and those who believe whatever political billboard most fits their life biases without question or research.

I did but I also see the economy and I am also seeing that neither the "leave" camp, nor their government want to actually enact Order 66.

Turns out the referendum was not legally binding so there's a slim chance that it can be ignored which I hope for Englands sake it is.
The absolute worse case scenario is that you have to put up with an EEA, meaning you still have the right to work, live and study in the EU.

Leaving isn't as simple as snapping your fingers. There's going to be up to two years of negotiations and fighting over terms and future treaties and trade agreements. A lot of Brexiters voted to leave for single issues, and want control of one aspect but don't want to lose other privileges the EU granted them.

Brexiters want to have their cake and eat it too, and many pro Brexit have already backed down on their anti immigrant stance and are making multiple concessions, meaning a lot of Brits who thought Brexit meant slowed/stopped immigration as single issue voters are in for a nasty surprise.

So you will either leave and take the brunt of it or remain and basically say FU to democracy. The worst case scenario is NOT EEA but actually worse

I think their government would get some deal, vote against, say some BS about having an "opportune moment to invoke Article 50" and sweep it under the rug. They don't want to leave.
