Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness Releases Tomorrow

Played it all night... It's a decent game. But! It's not nearly as good as the last few star ocean games.

The story is really weak so far, but that isn't what pulled me into the star ocean games.

The dialog between characters is fucking awful. The voice actors were okay, but their lines were beyond terrible. Hard to be a good voice actor when you have this script. I think they'll get a lot of hate when it's not really their fault.

Those are my only complaints thus far. I don't really know how the story will be just yet, TBH, but all signs point to lazy story telling with a terrible plot.

The battle system is pretty solid. No more 1,000+ battle trophies that takes years to get, yay! It looks beautiful. The crafting system seems solid(I didn't get a lot of time with this yet).

The camera looks worse than it was in the past few, which is impressive. But as long as the combat is good I'll be happy until Setsuna releases.

It has nothing to do with kids at all. It has to do with a certain portion of millennials complaining about the sexualization of females in games.

Parents who refuse to let children play games because of the content in thinking it changes how they react (I.E. Grand Theft Auto) but they can easily get access to Pornographic material or Gory Horror Films, while anyone of them gets stabbed at the school and they blame video games. but its Ok for their kids to play sports that require physical contact. Football is a good example the basic idea of the game is take their land by force.

Pretty much, but we have a certain climate in the west due to certain kind of people, who will cause outrage all over social media and game journalism if they see something that triggers them.
That along with western fans not having a spine to take a stance against shit like this, but rather falls for short lived hype, nor do people bother showing their discontent to the publisher and developers.
Like we have so much money and time now that we stopped caring about the quality and standards going on in the industry, but oh well, that's just how i see it i guess.


Anyways, it wasn't my intent to turn the thread into censorship talk, i was just responding to danny's post, i'll show myself out.

based on what, since you've not bought it you have not played it, therefore your view on the game is null and void. It's a shit game by every metric, from the rushed quality of the final product to the terrible combat system and being a game with no where near the scope that Star Ocean is known for.

Not every player will agree with the Reviewers of the Game. the only way you will know yourself is to play it yourself.

Been reading impressions from Japanese version for months now, and pretty much knew the game was going to be shit. Only in a Japanese game thread do you have to "buy" the game to know it's shit.

It's called reading impressions and knowing the game will be shit to you(and the vast majority of player for that manner, the reviews and user reviews both speak for themselves).

I watched a stream of the game today and it looks ok. The writing was cringe worthy at moments but it looked like a decent $30 title.

Edit: People can watch a review and see enough to base a opinion on something. Kinda why I though Homefrount (2016) was a hot mess. I personally enjoyed the first HF game.

I normally ignore scores and just watch reviews for abit of gameplay. Thanks to twitch I really don't have to do that anymore.

Homefront looks like a first person shooter which I do not play, so I wouldn't look it up nor give my opinion of the game.

I've played every Star Ocean (Obviously not I&F yet) and I enjoyed the games. I can in fact tell someone if these games were Shit or Not because i played the games and I could give you a review in my own words instead of posting links to others.

Also no one here is telling anyone they have to buy the game. I created the thread to see how many people are looking forward to the game. Not "Should we buy this game"

I would imagine if you read bad things about the game why bother clicking on the thread?

MMORPG gave it a much higher score than I was expecting. Honestly from what I saw at PAX East reception seemed to be overall pretty solid and people seemed to be enjoying the demo... of course that was just the demo and just a small slice of it. It seemed interesting to be but sadly I have too much of a backlog of games atm so I probably won't get to it anytime soon

She's rather amusing to be honest :P I Plan on streaming my entire play-through side quests and all managed to put in 7 hours yesterday under bad circumstances that wasn't to bad.

But character wise it has some realm gems, Emerson is outright amazing.

Just got my CE of SOV yesterday. Been holding off on playing it until I finish Tales of Zestiria. Despite the reviews, which I was expecting considering the Japan critiques, I'm still gungho about it.
