Nah the dangerous US prisoners, they smell weakness fast and capitalize. Like the fucking jungle lol. They'd intimidate the guards into bringing in contraband, be raping the european inmates, pretty much running the show.

Fair enough. I do agree that it probably happens every now and then, no system is perfect - but I'm not sure if it is as systematic as it happens in most US prisons.

Comparing norway to the U.S for prison statistics isn't gonna work. Not only that but are all prisons in norway ran by the country itself? MAny prisons in the U.S are private so they don't have to follow certain rules regarding prisons. Unlike federal prison (nicknamed club fed). Locking up a bunch of dudes 23 hrs a day with not much to do is inhumane and cruel because it WILL alter the way you think.

Since we are talking about US rape stats versus Norway, its fair to compare them.

You don't want to make prison that cozy that people don't mind going to it. Which seems to be the reasoning behind a lot of immigrant (first or later generation) crimes.

I've always wondered why prisons didn't provide special facilities where inmates could go, view porn and masterbate in,privacy. It's kinda I humane to deny inmates sexual release.

There is a very macho component among certain minority groups. These groups shun education because they see it as effeminate. And these groups fill our prisons for the most part.

Well, that shouldn't happen and prison shouldn't be geared towards pretending everyone in it is innocent either.

It's called collateral damage. It sucks, but so does it suck getting hit by a truck or falling down a step and breaking your neck.

Its different when its the justice system turning a blind eye to crime.

Part of it ? Is the mentality of the prison system itself.
They are just holding tanks for the criminals, not restorative in any way shape or form (just getting your GED while in on a robbery charge is not rehabilitation or restorative) The rehabilitation component of U.S. prisons is LONG gone.
The general population of the U.S. does not care as long as the "criminals" are raping,beating up ,doing harm to each other ...who cares?
The guys doing the beatings /raping /killing get more time added to their terms ...the prison makes MORE money off those guys, there is little to NO incentive to make it better.
