Everyone's probably just scared of her magic healing crystals.

Only if they're both allowed into the debates. Allowing only Jill Stein ensures a Trump victory while allowing only Johnson ensures a Clinton victory.

No. It would be a waste of airtime that should be given to the people that actually have more than a fart in the wind's chance of winning the election so that the voters can make a decision on who to vote for. Every minute we waste having to listen to Stein or Johnson babble on is a minute we could use to find out more about Trump or Clinton and their platforms. If they want to debate, they can ask another network to host one for them

More about their platforms? You might want to start asking Trump for those before you start supporting him. We have had nearly a year of primaries. If you don't know their platform, there are only two options. You are not paying attention or the candidate explisidly avoided stating them for nearly a year. The public should only be confused with policy of Stein and Johnson, Hillary and Trump have had plenty of air time.

I doubt you'll get an actual reasonable answer fro him. Jill and Gary(I don't like the guy at all) should be able to debate to.

Absolutely yes if the 5% hurdle is jumped.
The 15% hurdle is atrocious. How will other parties ever really get a chance, if they aren't given exposure to the public.
And even then, that's debatable. At least public TV ought to tread all candidates equally.
Everyone that runs in all 50 states, should be included.

To be perfectly fair, the fact that third party candidates tend to get frozen out of the whole media circus surrounding the election works to their advantage in some respects as well. There is no way in hell that either Johnson or Stein could survive getting put through the same ringer that the major party candidates endure, and staying out of the spotlight means people will assume that they are marginally sensible alternative choices, which they absolutely are not. The only reason Johnson polls as high as he does is that the general public doesn't know much about him and are just picking him because they hate Trump and Clinton. If he actually got some decent media coverage and people knew what he was really like, nobody would want to vote for him.

We know the basics of their major platform ideas, but we dont know the minor things they are for or against. Debated can be a time for things like grilling the candidates about the TPP instead of the simple are you for or against it answers weve gotten. We can find out what their views are on things such as earmarks, pork projects, balanced budget amendments (or even if they will actually implement a budget since we havent had one in 8 years)

I think so, let's get real here, American's opinions on politics are expanding and many are unhappy with the two party system. This has been brewing for a long time, but now would be a good time to give other parties a voice.

    There are more presidential debates?

Seriously who the fuck cares. Noone wants to listen to Hillary shrill about bullshit and nobody wants to watch real bull shit fall out of Trump's mouth.

Fuck someone let me know when it's 2024.

I think it's fair for Johnson due to the 5% system, as previously mentioned.

If we're talking tactics, however, it wouldn't be good for Hillary. The Republican debates only served to show that Trump will happily use another member of the floor as a punching bag, pointing out their flaws and making them look bad while using them as a springboard for his own sentiments. What Hillary needs (and I say this as someone who doesn't like her at all) is a one-on-one with Trump where she can goad him into talking first, giving her the chance to use his tactics against him.

But I believe any Hillary and Trump debate would get her massacred. Some people do very well against him (Kasich, Carson, Christie, probably Johnson) and some do terribly. Hillary would very likely be the one getting kicked around by both speakers.

But seriously, of course they should be allowed. Anyone running should be allowed to be on televised debates. Gary and Jill receive little to no publicity, and that's just feeding into the two party system more. They may not have a good chance, but they have no chance if they aren't given air time.

It's not a matter of "just anybody," you need a certain amount of support. I could announce right now I'm running for president but nobody would let me up there because the only people voting for me are myself and your mom.
