    Well, I can see their design thought process behind the skills, but... I really think that Gul'dan lost his chance

    Randomly thrown meteors? And you can't move while channeling them? Are we fucking serious? Versus an aoe 1.5 (I assume) fear? WTH blizzard ><

    - - - Updated - - -

    Not to mention that he could be so freaking cool. I do not play a warlock in WoW, only leveled one as an alt, but... Incinerate? Chaos Bolt? Those would look absolutely freaking amazing in hots. They could even make him an affliction duelist hero and be fine as well. But this? It's simply not visually pleasing

    - - - Updated - - -

    Ok, this is insane... Horrify is actually:

    a targeted ranged aoe spell that affects every hero in it with no DR for freaking TWO WHOLE SECONDS.

    I'm astonished, what the hell xD

    - - - Updated - - -

    AND OF COURSE,

    as always blizzard gives the superior ultimate choice 80 seconds cd and Rain has 100 sec. Ok blizzard.

    - - - Updated - - -

    OOOK BOYS & GIRLS...

    The upgrade on Horrify actually increases the duration by 1 sec for a total of 3 whole seconds AND makes them vulnerable, taking 25% extra damage for the duration.

    And THIS has 80 seconds cooldown.

    - - - Updated - - -

    AAAAAND of course, the upgrade on Rain is... slow. Woah. 90% for 0.5...

    I honestly don't know why I'm so disappointed. It was not like I was waiting for Gul'dan. S.I.G.H.

    I believe the meteor animation shows them at random, but the AoE damage is constant on the whole radius.

    Nope, you do actually have to get hit by a meteor to take damage.

    If we assume they want one character to represent each class spec choice;
    And we assume that Gul'Dan is the Destruction spec;
    And we assume that Gall is the Affliction spec (or is he SPriest?);
    Then there is only one logical conclusion:

    Wilfred Whizzlebang confirmed for the Nexus!

    I really doubt they classified Gall as a warlock. He's just a mage using some shadow/chaos shit. We still have 2 more specs to fill! And beyond that, they can literally add dozens of warlocks if they want to.

    Was mostly making a joke about Aff Warlock/SPriest confusion. Personally classify him as a SPriest.

    I agree, but I think the summoning goes to Azmodan if I'm not mistaken, or they could put another character for that.

    Eh, I'm not impressed. I have been wanting a Warlock in the game ever since launch, and while Gul'dan was a prime target, his kit is kinda underwhelming imo. I mean, it's not as bad as Medivh, but still was hoping for a little more. I like the idea of life tap/drain life, but the rest of his kit just feels tacked on and doesn't synergize well

    This alone makes it rubbish, even if Gul'dan could fire-and-forget it.

    RELIABLE AoE CC vs a damage ult that may or may not actually hit your targets regardless of where you place it? You'll either luck out and get loads of meteors landing on people or - SURPRISE! - RNG rolls against you and your ult hits fuck-all.

    Not even a remotely close choice. Horrify all day.

    It's a larger, worse starfall. Nothing to see here.

    One of the most powerful mages in Warcraft, the prophet Medivh, relegated to a guy who just portals people around.

    Medivh has always been subtle, but with huge impact; a manipulator aloof from combat itself

    I think he's rather well captured actually.

    Oh man, Horrify is SUCH a better ult. Rain of Fire is just so random. I guess if you're doing vs AI and wanna siege a lot you could use it to (maybe) do a crapload of damage to a keep, tower, and well all at once, it might work, but in any type of play against humans, who the hell would take that over Horrify?

  18. #38
    Gul'Dan has potential, but rain of fire does not. He seems to be a short to mid range caster, which could be troublesome to him. He did seem to have a lot of health bar in those preview videos, I hope he is not supersquishy but rather mid-range.

    So far on the PTR people are saying that he has extremely good sustain when he is in lane, and can bully most specialists away.
    I don't know how much it holds up in a team fight though.

    From what ive seen in relation to the PTR, his reign of fire is actually pretty powerful.

    looks like people who assume things without actually trying out a chracter are yet again...wrong.
