Well, pretty sure it's Sombra at this point. :P

Despite the Hero, several reports around with different idea of how her shield works (If she will even have it on release) (Figure on the right.)
The doesn't really look like it will give a shield, though. Looks more like a the drop item that Morrison drops on the ground for a AoE Heal (S:76).

Yup, pretty much confirmed it's Sombra now and how she's connected to Reaper - either she was the one to save him after his clash with Morrison OR she worked with Mercy on him.

I feel like Blizzard is trolling us for laughs. The Brazilian and Latin American version of the pic(second pic posted here) both have A.Amari added to the list of names adding fuel to the already wild speculation to Sombra's identity. Does her name appear because she was part of the original Overwatch or is it because it directly concerns her as it is her prototype weapon?

regardless, looking forward to playing someone that's viable damage, team sup and hopefully not to squishy, I love zen, butthe one shot kills is a pain in the arse.

Except maybe all those players who lock in on Hanzo may start playing Sombra and be way more of a help to their team instead of for the occasional denial and wall hacks.

Hanzo plays a lot different than a scoped sniper. If anyone switches over, it would be the Widowmakers.


Case in point: Hanzo is one of my most played heroes where as Widowmaker is one of my least played.

I was being flippant but how great would it be if the arrow spammers flocked to Sombra which left us with the good and great Hanzo players. There is a world of difference between the two.

Hasn't it been confirmed already that Mercy was the one who saved Reaper?

Like, even off the top of my head, one of their in game lines is

Mercy- "What happened to you?"
Reaper- "You tell me, Doc"

Pretty sure it's also referenced elsewhere.

It implies that she was involved initially, but not up to the end. There's a good amount of surprise which she expresses that indicates she thought he was beyond saving.

I'd probably give Sombra a try before I ever play Widowmaker, but my favorite healer is and will always be Lucio (or Zenyatta on certain maps).

It's also implied that Mercy isn't normal either. She has an emote in which she doesn't find her own pulse, and several characters mention how she doesn't age. I think she may have a slightly dark mad scientist past she's trying to redeem herself from.

I'm pretty sure the pulse thing is a joke, but yeah, she's definitely looking way too young for a 37 year old, but if we're going by that, Mercy even asks Mei how she stays young.

Referenced, but not confirmed. This exchange could have several meanings, one of which (probably most likely, too) is that it was Mercy who "saved" Reaper. But it can also mean that Reaper has learnt about whatever methods Sombra used to save him, methods originally invented by Mercy, but maybe never used on humans. So, Reaper might know he was saved by Mercy's creations and jumps to the conclusion that she should know what happened. She might not, though.

Or it could just be sarcastic on Reaper's part. Mercy is known to be a groundbreaking doctor, so he could just be mocking her ignorance in this matter. This one is the least likely, but still a possibility.

My bet is that Mercy worked with Sombra to save Reaper, but it's not confirmed, or at least I've never seen a confirmation.

Or maybe her question was about his behaviour. Seeing how Winston, Torbjorn and Mercy are pretty much the three main scientists behind Overwatch, it's likely she was involved in whatever happened to Reyes.

And she says she freezes herself, which she does regularly (12sec cooldown), so they definitely hint towards something there.

Well, all of them, really. Omnics, freezing guns, talking gorillas, healing/resurrecting weapons, "chronal accelerators"... all of those things are likely to be used for evil. And with Sombra we might get the evil version of Mercy's staff.
