Not really. The majority of veterans, police officers, and others who are competent with firearms are very pro-2nd Amendment. We find that knowing how to handle a firearm is extremely important, even for those who never want to even own one. I just recently got a firearm, I hadn't owned one for 15 years. I finally convinced my wife to let us get one, so that I could show my children how to properly handle it. Few things in this world are more terrifying than a person who has never handled a firearm... who suddenly finds himself in possession of one.

It is entirely accurate. Gun control laws were much more lax prior to 1968, and many of the poorest, rural Americans had no problem owning guns. Children would win rifles as prizes for various contests, delivered to their door via USPS.

There is an exceedingly strong link between inequality and number of murders committed but even then the US is off the charts. A lot of it I think arises from the US's "dog eat dog" and "screw you I got mine" mentality (as perfectly illustrated in the Hillary college plan thread) in combination with ease of access to weaponry. That results in lots of citizens (but by no means all) who have little empathy with others and who have an incredibly easy way to kill others on hand - a deadly combination.

Also, did anyone see the video of the guy killing that cop behind the pillar? While terrible, that man had excellent training. The way he moved, fired/went for cover, suppressed his "target" and then finished him was almost a flawless execution.

Sad day for the Dallas PD. But I can't help but think that this is how it starts. A real police state. If you guys think that cops have been edgy before, imagine how they will be now. These BLM retards are making things worse, and incite more violence over fucking criminals of all people. 9/10 times, the people that are killed by cops that go viral are criminals, and the videos only capture the end of the situation. Like that guy in Louisiana.
