Wink Bizarre things about your area?

So, for fun, does the area you live have anything bizarre, strange, or just quirky about it? Like the people? Places? ect?

I'll start by saying in California, as opposed to anywhere else I've been, people get their area codes tattooed onto themselves. People are strangely proud of the area code they live in. And I am not talking like a little tat' with three digits where nobody sees it, I was in Modesto with a friend and at a checkout line there was a guy with 209 as a full on sleeve tattoo. I saw also one girl with 707 as a tramp stamp and I even asked and she said "Oh I'm from the 707," which puzzled a younger me that did not comprehend the idea of getting such a thing tattooed onto themselves. And this was a perfectly normal girl otherwise, not even super trashy.

On MMO-C we learn that Anti-Fascism is locking arms with corporations, the State Department and agreeing with the CIA, But opposing the CIA and corporate America, and thinking Jews have a right to buy land and can expect tenants to pay rent THAT is ultra-Fash Nazism. Lol! Good grief! Not aware of any one here having that done. Overall, where I live is pretty standard I guess. Nothing bizarre I am aware apart from some big cat and Bigfoot sightings. Hehe.

My area is pretty standard. The only thing I find bizarre is people fishing on the river: there is no fish in it, and no one ever catches anything - but still, they fish a lot. Weird...

California has bigfoot sightings, I actually lived not far from were a lot of them happen. Damn I was hoping it wasn't just a California thing with the area code tattoos. When my sister came to visit last I had to explain it to her because we went out to a party and a few people had them and she was curious why people all had these three digits on them like she thought it was a street gang or something.

Yeah, you live in the northern part of the state? Here it is the Grassman who is what most report seeing. A large ape like creature with long shaggy blonde or grey body hair. The large cat often seen was video taped and on several TV stations here. Looks like a Cougar or Leopold. This is in the east/southeast part of the state. Which is hilly and has large sections of woods.

Yep we have area pride, though I'm on the edge of 209 near Yosemite. Nothing like Modesto. That is where George Lucas and Jeremy Renner are from.

This event happens here yearly: http://www.airguitarworldchampionships.com/ I would say this is rather bizzare.

YEP! Here's another California one for you. We got all these new age nut cases and hippies migrating up here to the Shasta area. Then overnight they all become "spiritual masters" and sell snake oil BS to gullible tourists. Just youtube "mount shasta lemurians".

I live a short distance from one of the few working two story outhouses. The same town also had a bike on a telephone pole for many years with a sign that claimed it was Hitler's bike.
One of these days, I should probably figure out a decent signature.

I was like just cruising down the freeway with my friend and we stopped to bum around the mall in Modesto and JESUS CHRIST I saw a ton of those 209's. Like why?!?!?!?

I've lived in a few areas, and its truly universal, from Tahoe, to Sonoma, Santa Cruz and Sacramento. Its just everywhere.

As someone who has worked in places that are allegedly haunted, I am a sucker for ghost stories.

Fact One: Hell is likened to a lake of fire into which the wicked will be cast alive (Revelation 19:20; 20:15).

Fact Two: Hell is likened to a bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1).

Fact Three: Hell was prepared for the Devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41).

Fact Four: Hell is a place of everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46).

Fact Five: Hell is a place where one can never repent (Matthew 12:32).

Fact Six: Hell is a place of torments (Luke 16:23).

Fact Seven: Hell is a place where the worm dies not and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:46).

Fact Eight: Hell is a place of everlasting destruction from the presence of God (2 Thessalonians 1:6-10).

Fact Nine: Hell is a waterless place with no exit (Luke 16:24-26).

Fact Ten: Hell is a place of outer darkness, weeping, and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 25:30).

One of the richest men in my home town is somewhat obsessed with communism and socialism. He once placed a giant statue of Lenin on the roof of one of the hotels he owns.

I've always wanted one of those Lenin busts, like just to have as a collectors item.
