Question What happens to Multistrike enchants in Legion?

Can someone copy over a character with multistrike enchants on gear and tell me what happens to them?

When they removed for example resistance enchants from the game, any gear that already had the enchants on them retained the resistance enchants, even though you can't create new ones.

But if they are removing multistrike as a stat (resistances weren't actually removed, just completely hidden) then I'm curious what happens to gear with those enchants on it? Before I waste a lot of resources enchanting a bunch of heirlooms or leveling gear I'd like to know if they are stripped off or if it still remains.

If someone with access to alpha could test that and report back I'd appreciate it.

They will likely change into one of the other secondary stats, like hit and expertise did when those were removed.

There was a Tweet from a developer last week, I think, that said that is what is going to happen. Multistrike on gear and enchants will turn into another useful secondary stat.

Will most probably turn into mastery as all classes have one be it a good or bad mastery.

All classes have haste and crit, too. I don't really understand your point. XD

It's possible they will do with the enchants what they did with gems going into WoD and change them each on a 1-on-1 basis. It would be more sensible to change the multi neck enchant to mastery, the cloak to haste and the rings to crit, for example, or any mixture of those three.

I sure hope not. That would leave all current multistrike enchants on heirloom gear useless pre-level 80. Multistrike enchants currently seem quite powerful at lower levels, and since the WoD enchants are the only available sources of it, I have them on most of my heirlooms. It'd be a shame having to enchant all of them again

Knowing Blizzard that useful stat will end up being Versatility >_>

Multistrike on current items converts to crit in most cases there are few exceptions. If your item has crit and multistrike then multistrike converts into either haste or mastery, spirit converts into versatility. You can just use the legion wowhead page or wowdb beta page to see the stat conversion for your current items. Multistrike enchants also converts to crit.

Mastery is the most unlikely stat it will turn into, since the others (crit, haste, versatility) are available from level 1, while mastery is a special snowflake that you only get when you are 80.

If anyone is still wondering, I just copied a char onto the beta servers with 3 items with multistrike enchants on. When I logged into the beta, two were crit, one was haste. So it seems like they're more or less random - they don't all convert to the same stat.

For gear it turns into crit unless the item already had crit on it. Then it becomes somewhat random. For the enchants it is turning into crit.

Actually it never turns into mastery, lol.

It's crit, if there is crit, then haste.

Typically it is crit or haste...but to say it never turns into Mastery is wrong.

    BWWWWWAAAAHHHHHHH

This horror must be cleansed with fire! CLEANSE IT WITH FIRE!

In all seriousness Vers seems like the safest/easiest stat for Multi to be swapped to since it's a flat baseline for just about every class. Seeing it manifest like this though is gross. That's a lot of boring/useless stat.

That is spirit being turned into versatility.
