I will admit I am not keen on the more um, silly anti-gay parts of the platform. I feel it will do the GOP more harm than good, and this election needs every bit of good we can get.

Can you really blame them? I mean I assume you're straight, you can think about something that you cannot relate to objectively and apply detached reasoning to it.

To others who have often struggled with it growing up, while I wouldn't say it's the sole part of my identity, it definitely plays a large part in feeling passionate about it. I think you're doing gay people and yourself a disservice by asking them to solely argue rationality rather than with feelings.

Without feeling, marriage is defined by a marriage license, that combines quite a few property and next of kin laws, cutting down buracracy of many legal forms. As defined by law, there is absolutely no reason to deny gay people a marriage license. It's a simple legal process, that doesn't have anything else attached to it. Everything from appeals to religion all the way down to 'think of the children' are completley irrelevant to a marriage license... There is no argument against gay marriage that is at all logical...

I'd say 99% of gay people are born and raised by straight couples. See the problem with your assertion?
