It's not much of a response as the original post was a little vague, but he's since had a number of replies giving more details. I'd figure he's more likely to see it as part of his own conversation chain.

Silly question, but if I were to open a Big Crate of Salvage right now, and get an item worth 10G, will that item worth 10G be worth less once prepatch hits?

I.e
6.2.4 = 10G
7.0.1 = 2G

This is incorrect. They've repeatedly said crates are unchanged but missions will start dropping new crates

Content wise no, the crates haven't changed, but in sell value they have. The follower items will be worth significantly less as have been shown on the PTR.

This was my misunderstanding then. I thought crates were being turned to trash and that new crates were coming from missions.

No they will stay, but the sell value of the follower items will be reduced by a big chunk, see my above quote.

They have no class restriction but I cant wear them either

The same general rule applies if your character can equip the item or its the same armour type as what your class wears then it unlocks the transmog.

The Green Items won't change. But the Blue ilvl 610 and the Follower Upgrades will change, to just one copper each.
