I think they patched that shortly after release, so AMD should also run at OGL 4.5.

In anycase it was limited by the CPU performance.

Still haven't gone through with it, but definitely considering. DX12 would be a nice feature. Damn you Microsoft, why must you be this way?!

Not quite sure were to put this, but seeing as this is the benchmark tread I will put it here. Found something interesting on another forum.

So yeah... 3D Mark does not use the same type of Asynchronous compute found in all of the recent game titles. Instead.. 3D Mark appears to be specifically tailored so as to show nVIDIA GPUs in the best light possible. It makes use of Context Switches (good because Pascal has that improved pre-emption) as well as the Dynamic Load Balancing on Maxwell through the use of concurrent rather than parallel Asynchronous compute tasks. If parallelism was used then we would see Maxwell taking a performance hit under Time Fly as admitted by nVIDIA in their GTX 1080 white paper and as we have seen from AotS.
Interesting... Looks like 3Dmark gives Nvidia a bit of an advantage or better said they are negating the disadvantage. I mean, the results do show something else compared to the DX12 games out there.
I guess we will see how it unfolds for the first batch of DX12 games.

I don't think there is anything wrong by using each cards/manufacturers strong points to get the best possible results the hardware is capable of, that's also what developpers now are going to have to do, only downside is that it's more work for them so might get done half-assed. Time will tell.

    SCORE 6 072

    Graphics Score 6 320
    CPU Score 4 971

Currently down 2 sticks from my Signature Setup. Less strain on the Integrated Memory Controller for OC reasons ( I'm trying to underwolt the CPU )

Futuremark released a very detailed breakdown about how Time Spy works:

Rabid fanboys are still not convinced though and continue to use their tin foil hats:

Scored a graphics score of 9812 and CPU of 4842.

    Overall 8502

Program said the GPU drivers are a bit outdated. I'm going to run it again when I get home.

Upgraded to Windows 10 today. lol

    Ran Timespy...

    i7-5820k@4.2GHz (or is it 4.3?)
eVGA GTX 970 SSC (old one with half a Gig or so of slow VRAM)

Somehow my score is unverifiable because the time measurement data was unavailable. -.-

    3875 overall.
    GPU score 3612
    CPU score 6608

Firenerd worked flawlessly and was a valid score.

Not sure if srs or not lol.

Dont compare to i7's of course they will blow you away in benchmarks, stock clocked 660k is barely ahead of you:

Pretty darn good for a 5+ year old cpu

I don't see 6600K's getting any better scores than that. Even if i7's or X99 CPUs did get much better scores, would this transition well into games? So far most games care little about multiple core CPU's or hyperthreading.

The stock clocked 6600k is 800MHz below my 2500k and received a 20% higher CPU score. Overclock the 6600k and that gap widens further. The only reason the scores are close is because this is a non-OC 1070 vs one with a small GPU core overclock and 10% memory overclock.

It's not bad for a 5 year old CPU, but it is starting to show its age.

Of course but its also FIVE years old+ lol. I think you are trying to talk yourself into an upgrade based on a benchmark, i am here so you dont : )
