I see no real downsides to legalization of incest - barring maybe the reproduction matter (which can be banned, while not banning incest itself). If someone is interested in doing it, then why not allow them?

Because you can't legally ban repoduction in the US separate from the act of sex, there is no precedent for it.

Also it is my personal belief that it will have numerous adverse effects on child-rearing, blurred boundaries between parent and minor child, etc.

The social stigma though, that's going to exist for a while. We're barely to the point of accepting that gays are a reality and even then, nearly half of the country still balks at them. It is an interesting questioning though, where does society go next? Mixed race unions used to be taboo, then it was gays that were taboo, we're just in the middle of transexuals still being a bit taboo. Where does society go next? Incest? Pedophilia? Bestiality? You are right in that Mokoshne is wrong. There is "only" a higher chance for the child to have genetic diseases.

I don't mind homosexual siblings who have sex with each other as they don't harm anyone. In case of heterosexual couples, it's different as there is potentially another life involved in this. Even though it's just a higher chance for the child to get a severe disease, they are also banning male homosexuals from donating blood because of the higher HIV risk.
I think if people were responsible they could have sex as much as they want. If I knew about a sibling couple I'd think it would be gross but I wouldn't judge them if, say, the man is sterilized.
