Actually, looking at our prepatch T18, I'm not sure about orbs anymore. If Gift of the Ox is not a percent chance, and spawns an orb once we have taken our max health in damage, how does the 2 piece affect that, exactly? Does it add a 5% chance to spawn an orb every hit we take, on top of current orbs? Does it reduce the damage we need to take to spawn an orb to 95% of maxhealth? It says it increases the chance, but as far as I know there is no chance involved to begin with, unless the formula Verko linked to above is still true, and the guaranteed orb after taking a full bar of health is is simply bad rng protection they baked in, and I have been thinking about Ox Orbs wrong this whole time, which is possible. Misinformation indeed. Someone clarify this. How do orbs spawn, where is the blue post confirming it (ingame tooltip sill says 'chance to spawn'), and what does T18 2-piece do?

As of this day, it is 5% chance to spawn per hit from the set bonus. You end up with a LOT of orbs. Oodles.

As of this day, you spawn 1 orb per 100% hp taken in damage, excluding stagger. If you had 1mil hp and 50% stagger, if you got hit with a 1mil melee, you'd spawn one orb.

It was the opposite at the start of the beta. It would create huge gaps in Gift of the Ox spawning. You could go for a very, very long time without ever seeing a single one.

Because its still being thrown around, here's the blue post with the actual formula behind the "chance". The chance wording was kept because they felt like it would be confusing to explain how it actually worked within a tooltip or something.
