If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. The sword label means nothing.

Most of the tier sets I mentioned are also good and unique. The graphics are dated both in the case of the tier sets and legendary weapons. The point is, most people don't stick with one thing forever, once the newness wears off. If legendary weapons were opened up for transmog, there would be an explosion of use and then it would tail off significantly. A year, two years from now, only a few people would be using them, like iconic tier sets.

    Aesthetic: Glaives
    Gameplay: Swords

Sword Label means x classes can use it. If it had a glaives label only DH would be able to use it so it does mean something.

except a weapon can be used by many classes, where a armor set can only be used by one, alos legendaries are much more appealing them sets

    Because of their availability.
At which point they lose a lot of what still makes them "legendary",
If their stats are boosted in that way they simply become an heirloom.

And that availability is why blizzard will allow transmogs only when that legendary has a limited window of availability during it's relevant expansion.
That is why the MoP cloak is eligible, but warglaives are not.
Artifacts are a more problematic issue, given how there is a requirement for the artifact to still be available beyond the course of the expansion.
However I think some appearances can be made expansion specific, and so at least those appearances should be eligible, if not the base ones too.
Legion legendaries I think if limited in availability to the course of legion, could be eligible too.

Not really relevant to the point that people get bored and don't want to look like everyone else. In fact, your first comment reinforces it.

...this makes no sense ya know. Firstly they will only be moggable to those that actually HAVE them. So not everyone would have them, hence not everyone would be running around with them. So by making them NOT moggable you are only taking the "cool legendary" feeling away from those that actually have them already. Before you say "but then everyone would go farm them", everyone can do that now anyway. The only reason why people don't is because...why? You can't mog them at all and outside of time walking they just collect virtual dust in your inventory. Oh and with artifacts they will be pointless in Timewalking now too.

Literally the only reason to have them now is so you can say that you do. If they made them moggable at least they'd have a purpose other than just sitting there, not sure how that makes anyone feel special. Oh I guess there is one more purpose to them. My friend who has Shadowmourn will whip that thing out and use it occassionally just because he wants to look cool but be absolutely useless in whatever activity we are doing.

I solid fix for this would either A. Make them moggable but no longer obtainable. B. Make them moggable but extremly extremely hard to obtain. This way people can still feel like special snowflakes AND actually use the model of the weapon they grinded for.

"if leg were transmogable everybody would use them !"

→ I see that (very) often, but that's really underestimate people's creativity. If that was true, every single paladin would be wearing T2 or T6 that are hugely appreciated and considered as iconic (especially the T2). However, people are much more diverse in their fashion choices. You'll find "fallen" paladins wearing DK looking like armors, those with green vanilla gear and so on.
And honnestly : even if 90% DH were wearing Illidan's glaive if they were moggable, so what ? Those items are next to useless now (ie : only used to fool around in town or before pulling a boss). It would give them some purpose, at least.

It's also worth noting that there are legendary items that had no lore before being in WoW (example, Val'anyr) while transmoggable items like Gorehowl are very important in WoW universe and apparently, people transmogging them haven't ruined the lore.

(Also : Yeah, at some point I'll probably run BT with my DH to get them to chill in Marduum with those weapons on my back )

This has to change at some point. Certianly Blizzard sees the desire and added replayability of old content for these items?

Man the shit they cowtow to... and then dig their heels in on.

Transmoggable legendary weapons would make nice rewards for "green fire" type quest chain challenges. They couldn't be class challenges, exactly, since the legendaries can (mostly) be used by multiple classes, but they could be fun and somewhat difficult.

I agree with this. If Gorehowl was a Legendary item (which it has every right to be, considering it's a Hellscream heirloom and feared in its own right), it wouldn't become superceded and in "the real world" it would be highly effective for generations to come. In fact, there's no reason for any past Legendary to become "old and useless".

On the other hand, even though the Artifact (which is supposed to be Death Knight red) has been (at least rumoured) in the game for 10+ years (I remember them being mentioned in the manual which came with Vanilla), they are only now making their appearance with Legion. Conceivably, any Legendary in the game could qualify as an Artifact - with a few obvious exceptions, like Atiesh and the Warglaives of Azzinoth...unless we plan on killing off their owners too.

From a certain perspective, Blizzard implementing Artifacts has already "killed off" Legendaries since Artifacts are maintainable, upgradable and far more powerful than any Legendary to date.

One possible solution to maintaining the rarity of Legendaries from a transmog point of view (i.e. keep Blizzard happy) would be that the skin for a Legendary is "lucky proficient character only", rather than "all proficient characters". Yes, this means that you'd have to farm it on each character that is capable of wielding it, but to me it's an acceptable compromise.

I would be whole hardheartedly down for this. I mean it is a lot of effort for what is essentially just a transmog item, but they did it with the fel fire previously so there is already a precedent. All in all, I want them to use old locations more often. Since playing beta and experiencing some of the artifact quests I can sincerely say this is one of my favorite things they have done in this game for a long long time. I am ALWAYS for adding more world to our world and the Broken Isles are particularly well designed and beautiful. There are however at any one time a ton of stuff that goes unused. Worse than that occasionally the stories that take place go unresolved or at least not satisfactorily so. It adds a lot to the game to give reasons to go back into the old world and explore those areas. Not to mention the amount of exploration a newbie will get to do of the old world! I have a friend who started playing at the beginning of WoD. He too is in the beta now. When the artifact quest had him go to Duskwood he flipped his shit that there was this super cool creepy zone he had never even known existed. He has since jumped off of beta and now is thoroughly questing through the rest of the expansions and their raids so he can get all the juicy lore bits.

That was a cool moment for him. For the veterans it's nostalgia porn and I love it. Give me more, and then attatch to cool shit like previous legendary weapons or alternate mounts for class mounts or graphics for iconic abilities like Charge!

i can't believe it took 4 pages for someone to say something meaningful on this topic.

people forget that the droprates for these is already extremely low. people have been running these instances in hopes of getting a binding or a legendary (or even some of the rare mounts) for a very long time but sadly haven't seen a drop.

You've only got a blindfold if you select it as an option.
