Include the following information when posting a request.

    Budget
    Resolution
    Games / Settings Desired
Any other intensive software or special things you do (Frequent video encoding, 3D modeling, etc)
    Country
    Parts that can be reused
    Do you need an OS?
Do you need peripherals (e.g. monitor, mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc)?

Ideally include a list of parts, we see the same request almost every day. There are other topics that have parts lists that you can copy and modify.

You wont be able to run some of those games on Ultra with good FPS though. RX 480 is not a high end GPU. Crossfire wont fix it either.

Why no Intel CPU ? and dont buy a AIO watercooler for your CPU. Noctua, BeQuiet, Cryorig etc. aircooler are cheaper and quiter/more durable.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...0001-_-Product

Maybe go for the GTX 1060/1070 and skip the RX 480 CrossFire read some reviews/benchmarks.

I like amd ... kinda of a amd fan boy longstory..... But anyway I'm not sure those coolers are viable for the amd cpu im gonna use
I think that this might be a solid entry build.. I have though decided i'll probably go with a 1060 or 1070 for my gpu.. still on the fence though.
I think this build that "thunderball" put together it looks exactly what im aiming for.

Please pick the 1060 or the 1070 instead of that 480.
EDIT: I get that you're a fan boy of AMD, but benchmarks don't lie. The 1060 is 25% faster than the 480 on Rise of the Tomb Raider, imagine what the 1070 is like.

EDIT: Click "Build of the month" copy Unicorn's build, but instead of the 960/970, replace it with a 1060.
Now you're on your way to enjoying completely MUCH better performance than you would have gotten with the 480 and that AMD processor.

A AMD FX-9590 is shit! You will get 10x better Performance with a 6700K or even a 6600K. Don't get fooled by the high Numbers of AMD CPUs, that doesn't mean shit!
Same for the 480! Instead of paying 500$ for CxFire 480s, I'd get a 1070 instead because a powerful Single-GPU is always better than 2 weaker Cards.

yeah iv'e been reading the articles on tomshardware and some other places ... I think Im gonna go with a straight up Intel/nvidia build with a 1070 card. Ive always liked amd but intel seems the way to go!

    - - - Updated - - -

    My current setup:

    Cpu : i7 4700k 4.0ghz
    Ram: 8Gb supertalent 1337
VideoCard: radeon r9 270 2gb (Now I know this is a very old card) - but i still get some good frames on medium/high settings
    Harddrive- 1TB Not an ssd
Motherboard: Msi H81m-e33 miltary 4 (old board)
    windows 10
    case: cyberpowerpc Xtitan

    PowerSupply Antec 650watt

I'm actually thinking I should just upgrade the videocard and memory to 16gb and add a ssd to see what happens before building a new build.
Maybe throw in that Cosair liquid cooling on my cpu since my case has perfect room for it.

  16. #16
Dont upgrade your memory. Get a GTX 1070 and an SSD.

I guess there is a typo in the cpu you got in your list and judging by the 4.0Ghz i would guess its the i7 4790k? If its indeed that then cpu you got is very good you won't see a performance boost from the new intel cpu. I'd grab a better mobo tbh. That cpu you got shouldn't have been paired with that cpu to start with. That cpu will last you another 5years without problems. I would get a new good mobo, ram, ssd, gpu and aftermarket cpu cooler if you haven't got one. Googling saw that your current pc case can support full atx mobo's.

I think bruh I'm just gonna go with a 1070 in this machine before upgrading anything else... I know I need a new mobo and ssd. but in all honesty If I see better performance then the Radeon r9 270 2gb... I'm probably gonna be happy. Since the 270 is really old. Now im not just gonna buy a 960 ,970 or 390x or some random card to see a performance boost. I want this card to last so I can maybe start a sli build down the road.
