Assuming that is as strange as assuming that the only reason people get professional massages is because they can't find a boyfriend/girlfriend to do it for them.

The guys I know who go to prostitutes don't do it because they can't get laid conventionally. They do it because it's no muss, no fuss. A simple transaction after which they don't have to worry about the other person's feelings or anything like that, and because it's a sure thing on a short time scale, rather than a long time investment that may or may not pay off.

Now, I happen to think the actual intimacy is the best part of sex, but not all guys feel that way. That doesn't mean that they're desperate or socially rejected.

'Twas a cutlass swipe or an ounce of lead
Or a yawing hole in a battered head
And the scuppers clogged with rotting red
And there they lay I damn me eyes
    All lookouts clapped on Paradise
All souls bound just contrarywise, yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Then maybe the conventional term of "date" this app is advertising flew over my head. The wording makes it sound like you're expected to meet up in a local area, what happens beyond that is outside the app's intention. You're paying money for the actual interaction and the notion that someone may be willing to sit at the same table as you, which sound quite sad and borderline forever alone.

Yes, clearly Millennials are responsible for the invention of prostitution.

My generation has been accused of some stupid shit, but boy, this one really might take the cake.

Maybe he meant "Millennials" like 2000 BC?

Yeah I mean if it really is just "dating," then I'd agree with you. But this sounds to me more like thinly veiled prostitution.

Micro-transactions are ruining the dating scene.

Relationships can be thinly veiled prostitution. Don't want to accidentally dox myself so I'll say a "guy I know" is in a relationship not based on shared interests or love but because the man has the money to pay for the girl's college, provide rent-free housing, provide food, in exchange for somewhat on-demand sex and the ability to tell his friends and family that he has a stable relationship with a woman.

It's okay, we all know who you're talking about.

No one would actually have sex with Donald Trump for free.

    Not even for money.

Come on now... Admit it: Trump will have a walled (protected) sex with you and make you pay for it!

At work and cannot load the video. Is there a summary you can give to make your point?

I don't believe the app is a "slap in the face" to anything based on what I read. At least not any more so than other popular dating apps or dating services- which seem to do most of the same things except guaranteeing or solidifying a date night for the two.

It seems more secure as well- as the women are hidden from the solicitors. Compared to having one's profile literally flooded with requests, PMs, DMs, etc nonstop. Which can contain anything from sweet to creepy to holyfuckingshitwhatinthehellmyeyes as a matter of routine.

Sure, but that's like the most bizarre first move I can think of short of assault.

Rofl 300$ for a date? Average? That means many pay even more. Holy shit, did no one tell them the street price of a normal "escort" service :P.

A lot of them- just not unsolicited or out of the blue while eating a salad and checking emails.

But I recently went out with a woman who was just absurdly excited by the sight of my dick. Like honestly, it was a little uncomfortable for me.
    They're pretty fun though, no?

I imagine (and know from experience) straight men tend to get excited at the sight of a woman's assets. So it seems totally logical to me for a straight woman to be enthused at a man's asset(s). Which again, is usually pretty fun.

But I am unsure how many men want to see a hoo-ha in the middle of the day or while casually eating lasagna.

I dunno, if it works some portion of the time then it is really that bad, even if it is offensive to you? There are many fish in the sea, and you're only one girl. Using completely, 100% arbitrary numbers, if you can send out 10 dick picks a minute and only write one really witty comment a minute, then if a dick pic works 1% of the time and a funny comment works 5% of the time... the dick pic seems like the optimal strategy. It's just game theory :P

300 Dollars for a Prostitute app. Might as well go to a Brothel, at least their you see what you are paying for.

I forgot the exact percentage but there is data suggesting that a good portion of encounters with prostitutes involves no sex at all, it's just a lot of frustrated married men wanting someone to talk to I think that's even sadder than this app.

Do they put out? Because that icing on the cake would be the only thing I could see that would make it valuable enough to pay for.
If they do, it'd be a very fuzzy line between this and simply having a high maintenance girlfriend in the first place.
